The last Barrett that played for us was a legend! A tough ask to be compared with.. Not sure he was ever really appreciated by us. He went to Southend and was given legendary status at Roots Hall. He scored more league goals (5) in less games (90) than alleged striker and alleged professional footballer Tom Nichols.

Which doesn't mean either of you are talking complete Barretts, by the way

Loved watching MB play!, had the same raised shoulders and swagger on the ball as Chris Waddle, could hug the touchline and capable of mazy dribbles at pace and was a real terror to defenders, flashes of skill last night from our new Barrett. RIP Mickey.

"The 80's Barrett that played for us was a legend" Oh Mickey you're so fine.. best home grown talent we ever had. Would have gone on to play for England Yes, Mikey Barrett was a legend for us, i remember his last home game at Eastville v Millwall, Millwall were 2-1 up when Mikey scored 2 late goals to give us a very memorable 3-2 victory, memorable because after our 3rd goal the stand erupted with hidden Millwall fans ripping up seats and throwing them at us below on the terraces, violence continued until the end and then after outside...oh the 80's.

The first and last Rovers game I left early. Totally dire performance, losing 2 - 1 and looking like we could have been there a week without scoring. Got just outside the ground and the crowd erupted. A few seconds later a bigger eruption. Taught me s lesson not to give up even when all hope looks lost

Can't remember the throwing of seats as was on the pitch dodging police horses!
