Not sure notoriety is a good reason to make an appointment. All I can say is that if he were made manager at Rovers I wouldn't attend. There are a couple of players that I would also react in the same way to should they come here. Of course you are right. I wasn’t suggesting it was a sensible or “good reason” to appoint him, just that it may be one of the reasons why Fleetwood did appoint him. And I too would be unhappy if there was an association with him. UTG! No, we are in agreement, I didn't think you were suggesting it was a good reason, I think that I understood that it was just the only excuse you could think of for having the bloke around. Doing daft stuff is OK if it's part and parcel of a bigger picture, but with this bloke it seems to me his main characteristic. He needs help I think. It looks like his life is a big incident of some type just waiting to happen.

Fleetwood goal disallowed. Offside man interfering with play. Tempers running high literally in front of our goalie mind
Very unlucky for Nichols.

Why would anybody employ the bloke? Horrible individual from a disgusting family. Sufficient evidence to be fairly confident that he'll never change. I’ve no idea why anyone would employ him. One reason may be that in a fairly top of the table match they can only attract 2000 odd people with a lot coming from the south and they need to have some publicity either good or bad. They appear to be a well run club but perhaps they feel they need to be talked about more. It’s the only reason for employing him that I can think of. 😉 UTG! Definitely got a ton of barley between his ears

Fleetwood Town boss Joey Barton has been given a one-match touchline ban after he admitted using abusive language to match officials.
Barton was shown a red card and sent to the stands for protesting about a disallowed goal in their 0-0 draw with Bristol Rovers on 29 December. this guy really does hisself no favours!! looks brilliant on his CV!!
