I thought that Bristol Bears achieved an excellent result this afternoon, particularly as they were losing at half-time by a fairly hefty margin to a first-class team in the Chiefs. C'mon Bris.

Sadly I just can't bring myself to support them anymore. Their new shirts are red (well, towards the bottom anyway). All started to go down hill when they were were forced to use numbers (not letters) on the shirts! And I couldn't set foot at trashcan gate. I just couldn't.

All fair comment and I share your pain, I really do.But Bristol RFC do appear to be on the march.

My cousin used to captain a Club called Bristol Rugby FC and my uncle played prop forward for them (and Gloucestershire) and he was also Chariman of selectors at some point... No idea what happened to that Club. "Bristol Bears". Really? Seriously, I don't have a connection with that Club any more and it saddens me.

I support whoever they play against. Grrr.. they're really angry, like a hungry bear coming out of hibernation. Grrr... Obviously bears are part of the rich heritage of Bristol. Eh? What do you men they're not? Their re-branding is an insult to a once fine rugby Club. I really shouldn't be so petty. But I am.
