We have to hope he fits in quickly and gets used. I hope GC doesn’t carry on in the same vein as DC in not using loans Good luck Is Vic there ?

Victor (21) was a regular member of the promotion-winning Barnsley squad in League One last season, named in their eighteen for 38 of the 46 matches.
Whilst only starting on two occasions, Victor also came on as a sub 23 times.
Of the 25 games in which he made an appearance, then, the average time on the pitch was just 17.5 minutes.
The single goal he scored in the League was away at Bradford in August 2018.
Goals per minute played = 1 goal per 5 match equivalents.
Victor also scored away at Oldham in the trophy many of us boycott (to deter the EFL from ruining the integrity of the lower league competitions).
From the show-reel, his goals for the Barnsley first team were close-range tap-ins, although he scored some spectacular goals for various development sides.

He won't get any decent game time just like all the other loan players in recent seasons. All loan players do is mess with the managers mind and upset their logical thinking. We're better off without them.

Only a couple of comments on the Orient forum (I've asked for more). "He will score goals in League One". "Absolutely - has a bright future ahead of him". Welcome Victor to the Gas.

Anyone else think he might score more than goal-machine Tommy Nichols this season?

Anyone else think he might score more than goal-machine Tommy Nichols this season? What, you mean like Ollie Clarke did?

From the O's: "Saw a few sub appearances from him. I don't recall him starting many games for us (if any), but he was strong, with a decent touch and presence, and decent at bringing others into play. Not dis-similar to the way Kevin Lisbie operated, I thought. Others may beg to differ... Reckon if he's continued to progress he's an excellent signing for BRFC mate."

I think this is my main hope for Coughlan - that he does seem to fishing in a slightly higher quality pool to most of his predecessors. Most of our signings seem to be players who have been at clubs higher up the structure than us. It doesn't necessarily mean anything of course but it does give me something to cling onto when thinking about some of the dire football I saw us play in the last 10-12 games of last season.

There must be a chant in there somewhere Trouble is, it would sound like he wasn't having much impact if we sang 'Is Vic there...?'

We have to hope he fits in quickly and gets used. I hope GC doesn’t carry on in the same vein as DC in not using loans Good luck Is Vic there ? Department S Nice one. I remember both Bob Dolan & Straff Coles saying that to me every time they saw me, in the archer. I couldn’t have told you who did it, not without YouTube. I’m laughing now just remembering it. Bob could be a very comic guy as well as the well known loon that almost everyone remembers. Him & Straff took me under their wing and I don’t know why but I wasn’t complaining. A little anecdote. Each Sunday a certain well known 82 loon, surname starts with a B, would bring a couple or 3 minibuses, to try and take the royal archers. It used to be a true blue lockout area in those days. Anyway, in they came and were met with a flurry of fists, boots and a plethora of * Tools*. , ran them up over Alma road but they set up an ambush. Everyone, those who ran after them up the hill, were knackered and it then became scary as they had weapons in their minibus. I remember Mr xxxxbank having a heated argument with my best friend, over who would have the tool my friend had. They came back to the archers for a second go, by this time Bob had taken the microphone from the DJ and started with is Vic there, hand on his head to look lol. Then just repeating Rovers, Rovers, Bristol Rovers. I guess you had to be there to appreciate how funny it was. I was only just turned 16 & was, very much, a spectator with the occasional shove or palm hit. As a 55 year old, I now look upon it with a different view but, I wouldn’t change a thing. Sunday nights at the Royal archers was so great, for a lad of my age. Fair play to those Ted’s, they took hidings each time but it would take some doing. I was chatting to a mate who now lives in USA and his comment was that you had to be on your toes all the time, in that pub. badbloodash were you there ?
