Enjoy your northern hemisphere summer everyone and let's hope it sees DC given the boards support to build on what can best be described as two seasons of consolidation in League 1.

I think earlier in the season we would have caved in after the sending off. As it was we turned in a gutsy professional performance and denied Southend any real scoring chance.
Not only that but our fans made the most noise the whole game, the singing of 'Goodnight Irene' and 'Darrell Clarke's barmy army' near and at the end was great to hear. We'd all like to have seen a promotion push, but I think most of us knew this squad simply wasn't strong enough for that. Lets just remember how far we've come. 4 years ago we had a terrible season and justifiably got relegeated form the Football League. 3 years ago we were sad not to have beaten Barnet to the title - today they've gone out of the league again. Two years ago I watched us grab a draw at Northampton, and witnessed their promotion party, this year they've gone back down to League 2.
Evolution not revolution - in DC we trust!

Overall just two wins (both against two of the relegated clubs Bury & MK Dons), eight draws and four defeats in our last 14 matches. Only 12 goals scored in that run. Just fourteen points from a possible 42. Lots of improvement required.

Well,no worries and no nail biting end of season concerns of relegation, will we make play -offs etc.Several players down due to being released, injured,Browner leaving etc so expect to see a few youngsters on the bench. Would be great to finish on a high note and my hopes for next season include a Cup run,Stadium/Training ground news, with perhaps some quality signings to bolster our very poor options up front. Will be at Stoke to-day where they do have real worries and will be back to follow the Gas in good time.Enjoy the Close season Gasheads and roll on August. Recall Rickie Lambert putting 4 past them at the Mem and both Adam Barrett and Matt Lund went there from us. Wishing you a good summer too Colyton Gas. . Hoping to see a little cash added to the evolution ethos and to have some truly decent quality signings ready for next season. The window opens earlier but closes earlier too. I would guess work has already gone into this. On a separate note, do we still have Will Dubey working with us ? Just wondering if this new head of recruiting had replaced him or is an augmenting addition ? Enjoy the summer, if we have one this year Sounds like it. DC says "Tommy will be liaising with Will" (5:40 here - www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2018/may/03.05.18-dc-preview/ )

Clarke looked a bit agitated yesterday and you could almost see it coming, much the same as Lines the other week. I read an article last week about a footballer in the lower divisions who got a five year ban for getting sent off deliberately in a betting scam. Not saying that's what this is so don't bite my head off, but it has me worried. From what I see Lines hasn't served a suspension for his sending off. Anyone know why?

Following his red card at Fleetwood Chris Lines was suspended for the following fixture at home to Charlton.

Just fourteen points from a possible 42. Lots of improvement required. Those stats just highlight that we need a different kind of striker up front with Ellis and/or Tom Nichols. Gaffney isn't the answer.

The amusing "On the pitch if Nichols scores" chant may have worried the stewards, but, there was no chance of that. Good to see a senior steward on the penalty spot applauding us Gsheads at the end.

Seriously. He needs a brain transplant. I like him, but if we want a promotion push you can’t have a guy sent off in the first half, I want to say time and again. When I saw the 10th min booking, sunny day, last game I thought about stating the obvious he’d be off. Nothing to play for but I still feel very angry about this. Team mates, mgmt and fans let down. Watch sky highlights and say that the second booking was an out of control tackle! Did the guy kick Clarke foot or vice versa?

Light hearted banter, or as I see it a growing campaign of systematic abuse of a talented player whose confidence is shot to pieces?

That chant is light hearted banter, there's plenty that could come from terraces that would be hostile.

Some sensitive soul might have his self-esteem lowered. Bottom lip trembling? Oh didums. As soon as "on the pitch if Nichols scored" I saw the stewards visibly relax. Fantastic turn out for a meaningless fixture and proud to be a Gashead. UTG.

All players, and officials, should be issued with FIFA approved comfort blankets, if that doesn't work then the game should be stopped and the snowflake allowed 15 minutes in a 'safe space' to recover. Frigging ridiculous, if anyone seriously believes that a player would be affected by that then I'm staggered, sounds like a couple of hysterical SJWs just looking to be offended on someone else's behalf.

Last match of the season, all the players putting in a shift, including Tom, who made at least two vital clearances,
so our fans end his season with sarcasm to encourage him through the close season.
It was a shame because, other than that, the fans were excellent and I would just like to know what vitamins Ellis takes as I could do with some of them!

If this new guy liases with him then it sounds like we may have the start of having a new scouting team, I very much hope so as we always managed to have players waiting to cover any that we’re outgoing. I very much hope this does work like that. Thanks Angas
