I have to say that I'm not 100% convinced Ellis meant that. But if he did then it was brilliant and shows a player full of confidence because I don't think I've ever seen him try that before - surely he would normally cut back onto his right and shoot across the defender. I still think his goals against Blackburn and Donny were more impressive but that's probably just personal taste but if that finish is genuine then wow! For a while I've argued that Ellis has received a lot of undeserved abuse from people who seem to expect him to be something that he is not. To me he has always been a very good secondary striker, which is fine. If he'd left us after the playoff final at Wembley then he would still deserve to go down as having made a major contribution as a Rovers player but there always seemed to be the demand for more. It's pretty clear now though that he has taken his game to the next level - it will be interesting to see if we can hang on to him.

Four of our academy products played Lines, Lockyer Harrison and now Russe. First starts for Slocombe, Moore and Clarke J for many months. Dc wishing to freshen up the side. If only Clarke J had started, eh, Harold! Don't you mean Clarke O ? Maybe we should get Broom back too another Academy product

No, Harold. I mean that Clarke J did not start, contrary to what you said.
