From what I've seen of it I've enjoyed the Commonwealth Games. Glasgow and her people have been great hosts.

It's been a wonderful achievement from Claudia Fragapane, to win four golds at gymnastics at the Commonwealth Games, and still only 16 years of age. Something for the residents of Longwell Green to shout about, that's for certain. I found it ironic (but pleasant) to see and later hear her Italian father waving the flag of St George, and saying the nicest things about England. Very pleasant. Next stop, the Olympics?

Just watched Usain Bolt in the 4x100, great race and a new games record. Enjoyed the table tennis today and perfect diving from Tom Daley.

Best thing was hearing Jerusalem when we won our gold medals. Can never understand why this isn't used for all our sporting teams. Would love to see a campaign for us to ditch GSTQ. Great for the Olympics but it is the British national anthem not the English.

While Jerusalem is an uplifting and inspirational hymn I cannot see it being adopted as Englands national anthem. The religous context wont sit well with some and I think a City thousands of miles away shouldn`t be Englands national anthem.
Land of Hope and Glory however ticks all the boxes but the pc brigade don`t like it as it is too nationalistic.
