They probably still turnover more than we do. Doubt it- they run on a shoestring. Their ability to stay in the 3rd tier is actually quite impressive but their fanbase is dying out.
We have a lot of problems but the smaller clubs around Greater Manchester suffer from a far more fundamental existential crisis-they are running out of fans. I know I’ve said it before but take a photo of any part of the ground apart frim the kids part and you will see our own fan base is ageing and old in the most. We had a fair few start coming from Kingswood again but only a few have carried on. If we can win a few more games then I think we would be ok but the longer we go without new or better ground and facilities, the more the reds will take advantage. God forbid they make the prem

When it's being funded by small local businessmen you can understand why millions aren't being spent on players, but these guys own a middle eastern bank and so far their nett spend on players is, I think, zero. Evolution is fine, but we are slowly evolving into something worse than what we were the day these owners arrived.

I agree with you entirely and because I have a fair few more red friends than your average gasheads, I’ve seen how much trashcan hate has benefitted already. If we continue like this we will have to offer freebies and the like just to get people to try any new facilities, not that I believe I will see any. I can only hope I am as wrong as I was about DC but there is just too much to go on re media interviews and commentsvmade, fir me to believe anything that comes from SH. I was going to say the owners but they have SH to tell us what they want us to hear in my opinion. I don’t see a regeneration of the men happening ever. It just doesn’t make sense and, as you say, this is a banking family so they will be fully aware that a new build doesn’t attract the VAT. Im trying my best to let it go but it plays on my mind & I guess what goes on at Rovers affects me more than I like to admit Bamber

Then on top of that, Wael challenges us not to question him because he has a team who have built, what was it, 12 stadiums? Well Wael, they couldn't get UWE across the line for you, could they me old mucker!

Oddly enough I was reading an article which had a photo of Wael with the 3 guys in it and it went into say how successful they had been. I then went to copy the link, so I could post it here and the whole story disappeared. It originated from the clubs own website. It has now disappeared completely. How very odd

Sorry, but how is all this self flagellating in any way related to today’s match against Oldham?
It’s not like there aren’t enough threads to have another pop at the owners on...

What part of match day thread don't people understand?
Happy with that, no goal from open play conceded again (ish) and a draw on the road, that's absolutely fine.

What part of match day thread don't people understand? Chill out Dude. It just kind of flowed from talking about what the attendance was today, that happens sometimes, conversations evolve. Is this allowed on your match day thread then. Sat here grinning thinking about all those angry Sheds stamping out of the DSS Arena, they thought they had that game won with 65 mins on the clock. Helium Jnr going into meltdown with the officials. Priceless.

Ok.. We were under pressure for most of first half, and end of second half. But.....45mins to their goal we really had chances to take the game away from them.
My m o m has to be Smith for producing what looked like a double worldy saves, even though I thought he played poorly in first half with squandering their only shot on goal, and remaining on his line too often.
But fair play, if it wasn't for him we might've lost. So I guess a draw was a fair result.
Positives... Bodin goal. Took it sublimely. I hope I've not seen his last goal for us
Ellis running the channels. He tried hard as does so often. He was our best centre back at set pieces today!
Bola's effort in attacking was worthy of mention. I'm not sure about him securing the right back position....he did allow many crosses to go past him, and his naive challenge (at the time I didn't know it was him as up other end) led to penalty.
Negatives... Defence. I'm sorry, but we weren't at the races first half. Many times down the flanks beat us. Many crosses into our box weren't dealt with. More luck than judgement as we looked rocky at the back. We needed a domineering performance at the back, if Oldham had been ruthless finishers, we would've been torn apart first half.
Lee Brown. I love the bloke for what he's done. Can't fault his effort, but I'm afraid today no30 had him struggling.
Passing. I wonder what stat would reveal our success pass rate when we pass forward?! Too many easy mis placed passes. We look a shadow of the team last season. It's like we are strangers out there. Body language is negative. No one seems to want the ball, we look shot in team spirit. It's worrying.
Sweeny misses a sitter from 1yard!
To sum up, I really don't know why we didn't play same formation as Walsall away? 4-4-2 seems fair enough away. Too many times we were ripped open.
I'm presuming Broadbent was injured?
A dysfunctional result today, so we'll take it, but we were far from convincing and something is still very wrong..

I think you have summed it up precisely. DC has a lot of work to do on this side to keep us in this division. As regards Ellis if our defenders watch how he attacks the ball in our box.Ellis the could learn a lot. Time for a beer.bath and bed

The stats were Oldham 25 shots to I think either 6 or 9, I think it was 6 and only one of those on target. IF you’re a stats man then we were absolutely taken to pieces. It doesn’t make for comfortable reading

We weren't taken to pieces but dealt with most of what they flung at us and countered quite well, not like at Scunny when we parked the bus. Their main striker was out and you could see that in their frantic efforts. They lacked a bit of composure in front of goal, desperate league position i guess. Bodin is our only real threat up front. If he goes in the window then I think we're in for a bleak second half of the season
