Stats show Rovers have not lost on Boxing day since 2011 when Plymouth won at the Mem. Last five on 26 Dec 2016 Coventry City home W 4-1 Hartley & Bodin 3 (1 pen) 2015 AFC Wimbledon away D 0-0 2014 Torquay away W 2—1 Taylor & Trotman 2013 Torquay away D 1-1 Harold 2012 Aldershot away 2-2 Clarkson pen & Richards. Can Rovers rise to the occasion at Walsall today ?
Expect some team changes maybe Slocombe, Lines, Broadbent, Menayese or Dunnwald. Perhaps switching Smith for Slocombe, Partington to right back instead of Leadbitter, Lines for Sinclair ?

Thanks harry. Perhaps our first draw of the season. That would suit me. Safe travelling to all who go. UTG!

4 games in - what is it - 10 days? Would expect some sort of squad rotation, to manage the fixture load, regardless of previous results.

Or perhaps 'rested' or 'rotated', is a better description, given the crowded fixture schedule.

Maybe Nichols scores boat loads in training? Maybe Ollie Clarke just turns up in training?
Both don't seem to so far on pitch this season.
So let's have a great idea and include them in starting line up in place of Sinclair and Gaffney.....only time will tell whether that's a good idea or not! I really hope it works, and either or both can show their inclusion means something or makes a positive impact.
I think 4-4-2 is correct to start away from home, I'm just perplexed to the staffing of it.
I really really hope travelling support isn't let down. COME ON YOU BLUES! Safe journey, Gas..

But they are both on the bench, so maybe not.

Byron Moore must be going out on loan next week as he's still no-where to be seen.

Byron Moore must be going out on loan next week as he's still no-where to be seen. I genuinely feel sorry for the receiving club. It was this corresponding fixture last season that made me think seriously what the hell sort of player have we signed? Him leaving would be best for all concerned, he's in the prime of his life and should be playing regularly at whatever level.

Okay, I'll concede to 'some element of form', with 1 of the 4. We've always known Sweeney isn't quite there with his distribution - at this stage in his career he's a stopper, but unfortunately hasn't been doing much of the stopping of late. While they didn't exactly excel on Saturday, Partington was okay and Sincs gave 100% as usual. I certainly wouldn't say Gaffers has been dropped. We know DC takes each game as a project, and, as I alluded to above, with the number of games in a short number of days, there was always going to be players coming in and out of the starting 11. If anything is to be dropped, I'd say the formation - 4-3-3 has worked on occasion, but many teams have found a way around us.
