That's what happens when you are playing a top team. Late goal because the team at the top keep pushing for the win and the team struggling just defend. At least it was only one goal this time but of course by defending we created little. We are in trouble.

I've been trying hard not to say this to avoid any accusations of negativity during the game but... we look bloody dire. Our midfield and forwards look devoid of ideas or skill. This is relegation form. You aren't allowed to say that, it's just a little 'road block' remember. But it's not much different to last season, the main differences are that we had a keeper who kept us in games, we had Bodin and we weren't carrying Nichols.

Shocking standard of football on show. Both teams hoofing the balls into the channels, i have never seen a game where the players were constantly battling for the second balls, it was devoid of any skill or technical ability, it really was a case of which team could be first to nick a scrappy goal. That was like a Wardy away performance, digging in and hoping for a draw, and in fairness to DC i'm sure he and everyone else would have been delighted with a point and a clean sheet, just a shame we couldn't hang on.

To some extent I blame myself. I don't think I've ever watched Rovers live via the net or on TV here in NZ and seen them win. That shouldn't be a problem for the rest of the season as I'm buggered if I'm getting up at 4:00am again to be served up a performance like that.

We looked devoid of ideas going forward.
Individually, we have decent standard players at this level but I can't help think all have underperformed for long periods this season, and not linking up together.
Ironically, the most inexperienced pairing look kinda well together....broadbean and meyanese.
I thought Lines had a decent match as captain. Something definitely in the positive. Also, Ellis man marking and helping defence was testament that his efforts for the team is to be commended.
But for me, Browners two line clearances kept us in with a chance and my Gas m o m......was there when needed, definitely back to his defensive best.
It just isn't working atm, whatever we try. I thought very well defensively until 93rd minute, by hook or by crook digging out a draw (how many times have teams done that to us at the Mem?!) I'm sure we would've taken before match. Even our 6-2-1-1 formation failed in the end!
What we can't fault was effort. We tried and tried, it just wasn't meant to be.
But Scunny had to graft for their victory. And that's a big step forward in our defensive play. We almost stopped the rot, but not quite, just don't know how we continue to falter against opposition with half our fan base? Again?

Such a shame as a 0-0 would have been a great result after all the goals we have conceded this season. On a positive note it looks like we have found 2 very promising centre-backs.

Still need an organiser at the back. Few times the back 5 did not seem a unit yesterday

Bodin was papering over some bloody big cracks.
Time for Dwane Sports to reinvest some of their substantial interest payments in the playing squad and help DC out a bit.
On DC's part, he could ditch this ridiculous 4-3-3.

4-3-3 does not work unless we are playing crap sides at the Mem. DC has to admit that he's got it wrong. The only time it worked away from home was when Northampton decided not to turn up at all and donated the game to us. The only positive I can take from yesterday is that Broadbent and Mayanese sounded like they did a good job. Obviously to balance out that bit of positivity - Rusty Sweeney and Liability Lockyer will be straight back into the side next week.

We've had it good for a long time now with DC and MS running things. It is of course inevitable we have a bad run, sooner or later.Personally i think DC and MS will sort it out.

Thought Brown at fault for goal with tentative header. At the time I thought smither should have come for the ball and having seen it on television still think the same. It was a looping ball to the edge of 6 yard box and should have been meat and drink to a keeper 6.5 feet tall

It's not the fact that we've lost a few games, everybody knows that the upwards trajectory couldn't continue forever, it's the nature of the defeats that's got people a bit worried. What was it, 12 goals in 3 games, 2 of those against L2 teams and one against West Ham's kids, one of them even played 20 mins with 10 men and still scored against us. I think I'm right in saying that in the League there are only 4 teams who have let in more goals. In the top 4 divisions, including cup competitions, nobody has let in more than us. It's no big surprise that we are losing games and people are talking about it.
