Straight red for Lockyer? This means a ban.

Anyone know what for? Seems a bit dumb to get a straight red in the 120th minute of a game we're losing in a "relatively" meaningless cup game.

Well they gave it a good go. Goal scoring seems to be a bit of a problem though. 21 attempts. Another sending off, another suspension . 😩

If you're the last man - that's the rule and Tom knows that. So sounds a bit dumb. Back 4 of Bola - Broadbent - Sweeney - Partington Saturday?

Anyone know if Sweeney is available for Saturday? Or does the suspension only count in the league? I just can't bare the thought of having Burn back at CB. Not after Bradford.

Thanks for putting the highlights up. Some great efforts on goal from us unlucky not to score. Dont want to be too hard on tom, desperate for an equalizer and tired he pulled the opponent back and got a red. Telford looks a goal threat and tom broadbent must feel well pleased with a solid performance against such a big club.

Just got home, had a good day, thought the game was good and Rovers were unlucky not to score. Shame it was such a small crowd. All the Rovers players did well.

Cannot fault a single one of the lads tonight, we were superb from back to front & not only deserved a goal but probably deserved to win the game and go through.
Personally felt Marc Bola was one of (if not the) best player on the pitch tonight, he was unbelievable. Also special mentions for Lines, Sercombe & Gaffney after coming on. Harrison was also excellent & ran himself into the ground for the cause.
Support was sensational in numbers & in places created a superb atmosphere. Red card extremely gutting but it is what it is, the sort of silly mistakes we're making of late & DC holding his head in his hands said it all.
Anyway, couldn't be more proud tonight. In no way disgraced ourselves & were worth a penalty shoot out at the very least. Onto Saturday dudes, huge game & 3 points!

If you're the last man - that's the rule and Tom knows that. So sounds a bit dumb. Back 4 of Bola - Broadbent - Sweeney - Partington Saturday? Being pedantic, there is no "last man" rule (or Law to be even more pedantic). "Law 12: DENYING A GOAL OR AN OBVIOUS GOAL-SCORING OPPORTUNITY
...Where a player denies the opposing team a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity by a deliberate handball offence the player is sent off wherever the offence occurs. Where a player commits an offence against an opponent within their own penalty area which denies an opponent an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and the referee awards a penalty kick, the offending player is cautioned if the offence was an attempt to play the ball; in all other circumstances (e.g. holding, pulling, pushing, no possibility to play the ball etc.) the offending player must be sent off.
A player, sent off player, substitute or substituted player who enters the field of play without the required referee's permission and interferes with play or an opponent and denies the opposing team a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity is guilty of a sending-off offence
The following must be considered:
distance between the offence and the goal general direction of the play likelihood of keeping or gaining control of the ball location and number of defenders"Given that Tom Held Wilson back level with the Centre Circle and there were fast retreating cover defenders, I would say that the referee has been very harsh in his consideration of criteria 1 and 4. Broadbent was very good last night and despite Broadbent and Sweeney both being left footers, they would be my preferred pairing on Saturday.

I don't know what Telford has to do to get a start. I know it's been said we have a good understanding with Stoke but surely they won't be best pleased with him on the bench so often. Anyway, it seems we are having a few disciplinary problems right now and losing Lockyer is a big one. It really is time we had a win and Saturday provides that opportunity. Let's get behind the boys and cheer them onto a win

The video also makes it clear that when Wolves scored, they had a player in an offside position, apparently directly blocking the view of Slocombe. The funny thing is that not one of the Rovers players appealed for the offside at the time. Attachment Deleted
