Important we get something to-day to cheer us all up.With the ground situation seemingly back to square one-yet again- and no points on the board essential we play well.'V' festival clogging the M6 near J 12 but that won't affect the Staffordshire Hordes as we are north of that.
Lets give Dom Telford a start and avoid the mediocrity we have displayed so far.Gaffers to start and think Lockyer may be rested.

In dc, we trust..
Tough match, where traditionally we struggle.
Conversely, a number of high profile signings (most of them for free) should put the pressure expectations; and home advantage, firmly on their shoulders.
I would 3-4-1-2 it with (if fit) Ollie Clarke to partner Lines in middle as that partnership seemed to work last season at expense of hard working Sincs. Sercombe to play just behind front two of Ellis and Nichols.
Gaff and Sincs in the wings as impact players..

Three wins in 22 visits to Gigg Lane 1956,2003 & 2006. Not one of our memorable grounds to secure a win. They have virtually a new team and lost 4-1 at Wigan so who knows. Like to think DC will give Broadbent and Gaffney a start.

After last weeks gutless display, I'd settle for a point. Gaffney probably deserves a start. Gaffney/Ellis don't seem to have a great understanding so maybe give Telford a start.

Telford doesn't start.Stoke fans tell me we'll love him but he's not had a minute thus far.Hope he comes on at some point.Youngster on bench as goalie with Smith injured.

For those with formation queries, it's 4-3-3 according to official Rovers page on Facebook.
Slocombe in goal, LB Brown, CBs Sweeney and Lockyer, RB Partington.
Narrow 3 CMs in Lines, Clarke and Sercombe. RW Bodin, LW Harrison, ST Nicholls.
I actually think Ellis moved to the wing takes the pressure off his goals tally and gives him freedom to use his pace. Also solves the issue of us not having a natural LW in the squad.
