What do you listen to? What would you recommend?
I am a big fan of the Gaurdian football weekly and extra, which is a fairly balanced comical view.
Also the times - the game, however the reason for the post is I'm finally at my tether with Gabriel Marcotti! I need a new pod to replace this idiot! Never really liked him on tv- and with a show of his own I'm surprised his head fits through the studio doors!
I'm always conscious I'm missing out on a hidden gem!

I listen to Football Weekly, Football Ramble & Second Captains. Never liked Marcotti, takes football too seriously.
Edit : Forgot to add I intermittently listen to Terrace (A Scottish football pod) and some non-league ones.

Glad other people do not like Marcotti - he really gets on my nerves.
Football Weekly is generally good and has the right kind of tone I think but Simon Burnton annoys me a bit on that one - football is a sport, not a bloody art form.
I know it can be a bit repetitive due to the nature of the show but I think the World Football Phone In Show is generally good. I think you have to allow for the fact that it's a regular phone in show attached to a non-football broadcast at 2AM so quality control of the callers is sometimes limited. But generally I think they get it right and I feel like I know more about the way the game works politically than I did before. They also get away with being a bit more controversial when talking about the big issues than other more mainstream shows.
Could someone give me a quick review of the Football Ramble? Ie. What does it offer in addition to say Football Weekly?

A lot sillier, not as highbrow, very good if you're under the age of 40 and over 25. Lots of references to the 90's and early 00's. All the people on it are in their mid-30's and although are interesting can be equally daft. For some it can be a bit too daft.

The fact that on a UK podcast he openly says he doesn't care about the EFL and is really dismissive of any discussion around it, yet loves to waffle on about the glory of Serie A! Even thogh the championship alone has better attendance figures than the top italian league!

They were talking about Blackburn, so could have been one of their lot!

Goes by the internet name 'irishrover' supports BRFC who play in blue and white shaped shirts. It's like being visited by myself from an alternative universe....Couldn't have possibly been me though, that guy said things that made sense.
