Reported on radio bristolcity that WAQ and Lansdown have a gentleman's agreement NOT to sign senior players from each others' clubs.
This is pretty unprecedented.
Wonder who'll blink first?

Could be hard to enforce, and obviously City couldn't care less about us, taking Taylor was more about having some PR to put out that their fans would like whilst Helium Jnr makes a mess of running the team and scuppering our chances of making the play offs than it was about boosting their survival hopes.

A case of shutting the door after the horse has bolted and then cutting off our nose to spite our face.
We have gained precisely nothing from this agreement.

Perhaps we got a one off compo to soften the blow?

White noise to appease the masses. Agreement won't be worth the paper it's not written on

Blink first? It literally goes one way and means we can't buy any of your first team players. You're hardly going to be able to poach ours!

And I can tell you from personal - well company experience - that a gentlemans agreement relating to employment of people means the square root of f**k all in legal terms.

A "gentleman's agreement" like this is not worth the paper it isn't written on!

Given your history of agreements with the rugby club we'll likely keep a careful watch on it.
You'll find us a different proposition to shafting I'm afraid 👍

There isn't a gentleman involved in the cesspit called Bristol Sport so that we can forget about any sort of gentlemen's agreement.

To be fair, on that subject, he is right. While Bristol Rugby did prostitute itself to Bristol Sport, it only did so because we drove them to the brink of destruction.
