A little bit of fun, if you had five teams you could play for in your career who'd you go for? Don't be boring and say "only Rovers", be a bit different, go to China for the money if you like or pick weird teams you've always had a soft spot for. Just so you know if you want to start and end your career with Rovers that counts as two so you'd only be allowed three other teams. Anyway, here's mine;
Bristol Rovers Not interested in doing a Scott Sinclair, I'd like to break through around the age of 15/16 and get a good 100-150 games under my belt breaking lots of goal scoring records along the way. Unfortunately I'd only be able to get The Gas so far but, would keep signing contracts to make sure Rovers get the best possible deal for the club. Let's say a nice £7m when I go to join...
Ajax 20 years old, a move to the Dutch giants beckons. A nursery for some of Europe's finest ever players this is where I want to learn my trade at the top level. Domestic honours come easy to us as well as going deep in the Champions League a couple of times, maybe a little Europa League victory thrown in for good measure. Now strikers in Eredivisie can be hit and miss but my ability in European Competitions simply cannot be ignored by England and Spanish giants...
Barcelona This is where I truly become world class, out of the "big clubs" this was the move for me. I love Barcelona, the food, the beer, sure I'm an athlete but I can have a little tipple. Playing alongside some of the best players in the world I again win plenty of domestic honours and win my first Champions League winners medal. I'm a collector you see, these things are important to me. I insist on signing short contracts though, after 3 seasons I decide I need a change of scenery and a new challenge so leave on a Bosman for...
Roma I am a bit of a Romanista, they're my favourite Italian club. They've not had a great deal of success though. My main reason for joining Roma would be to try and deliver their first Scudetto since 2001. European success may be a little beyond I Giallorossi's reach but I'm happy winning domestic honours and playing in some of the worlds most famous stadiums every week. I'll keep to my principles and only sign short term deals. When I'm ready I'll go for one last challenge by signing for free for...
Boca Juniors As I said, I'm a collector and I also love iconic kits (look at the clubs I've picked). Only 9 players have won the Champions League and the Copa Libertadores, all of them South American. That's the goal, the one thing I want to end my career. The delight I'd get from playing in La Bombonera every other week would be something else. The idea of an Englishman being Diego's hero makes me laugh as well.

I'll have a go:
Ages 16-20 Southampton:
Decent sized club, seemingly good fans and a decent history. Good reputation for giving young British players a run in the team and not standing in their way if they want to progress to bigger things.
Ages 20-30 Barcelona
Good weather, food and beer; always going to be competing domestically and in Europe, big history and firey derby with Real Madrid. Here I become the best player in the world.
Ages 30-31.5 Shanghai
Could be any Chinese club, but Shanghai looks the best place to live. Sign a 2 year deal to give myself far more money than I'll ever need, still world class I terminate my contract 6 months early citing homesickness and the footballing world waits with baited breath to see where I end up
Age 31.5-32 Bristol City
As Steve Lansdown decides to focus on his badminton team, Bristol City still under the tutelage of midget Johnson slide down the leagues and are in danger of dropping into the Conference.
As a last throw of the dice he offers me 25k a week, plus a decent signing on fee. Unfortuantely I suffer a mystery injury in my first training session (lazy-itus) and am ruled out for the season. To stay in the league Bristol City need a point from their last game of the season, midget Johnson names me on the bench because even with one leg I'm miles better than the s***head mercenaries he has available.
With 65 minutes gone and City 1-0 down heading out of the league, LJ puts me on, I immediately skin 6 players and am cleanthrough, I can’t bare to score myself so square the ball to a teammate who taps into an empty net. Ashton Gate is ecstatic. As the game enters injury time, the full times from elsewhere have come in. A point will keep City up, but if they concede now theyre down.
With literally seconds to go, opponents Mansfield, playing in a borrowed kit as they’ve forgotten their own win a corner. Having no intention of causing a riot they put in a flat ball in that none of their players challenge for, hoping to give the City keeper an easy catch.
I rush in and bicycle kick it into the top corner of my 'own' net. Ashton Gate is a stunned silence, my team mates fall to their knees, the Mansfield players celebrate in the most half-heated, awkward way of all time. I turn to the Atteyo stand, rip off my shirt to reveal a Rovers shirt underneath, flick them the V’s and run as fast as my legs can carry me into a Range Rover surrounded by an armed convoy that takes me to the airport where I get the first flight to Vegas and spend the next month surrounded by Champagne, bitches and cocaine.
Age 32 - Bristol Rovers
I return from my holiday, sign for Rovers for a modest £1500 a week salary that I donate the entirety of to local Children’s charities.
Barcelona offer me a testimonial for ten years service so I insist they visit Bristol for the opening game at the UWE stadium. I score the first goal at the UWE stadium in an entertaining 3-3 draw. I go onto score 33 goals that season, i only want to equal, but not better Geoff Bradford’s record for goals in a single season so i let Matty Taylor keep pens and i tee up Ellis ample times when it would be easier to score myself.
We win League One, Darrell gets headhunted by Man City, so I take on the role of player coach and lead us into the Premiership again scoring 33 goals. Gasheads close the entire A38 from UWE to the bottom of Gloucrster Rd in celebration.
After a nice season of consolidation in the Prem, I'm ready to return to being a fan and hang up my boots and spend my days banging Jennifer Lawrence in my country mansion.

I would be a tough centre-half play for rovers as a young man get sold to liverpool fc then move to coventry city before a transfer to nottm forest where i would find european cup glory and finally i would play for wigan and have a decent spell as there manager. Oh and play for england.
