Should take it off them and give it to a country that needs little preparation or construction, like USA, Japan, England. Preferably England

my guess is that a rather beligerant president may become rather ill and will have to step down from his office "due to ill health" and somehow a certain frenchman may not realise his dream of becoming headhoncho of FIFA and all it's trappings it brings

www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jun/01/qatar-2022-world-cup-allegations-fifa-revote?CMP=EMCNEWEML6619I2
Senior Fifa figures are for the first time seriously considering the ramifications of ordering a rerun of the vote for the right to stage the 2022 World Cup, in the aftermath of new corruption allegations against the hosts, Qatar.
While awaiting the results of a semi-independent inquiry into the 2018 and 2022 bidding races, senior football figures heading for the 2014 tournament in Brazil are understood to be considering their response if the report recommends a new vote in light of new claims based on hundreds of millions of leaked emails and documents.

The rising death toll of migrant workers is a bigger scandal. FIFA is a cesspit of corruption and crookedness.
The whole thing stinks to high heaven and always has done. Take the WC from Qatar and award it to Australia, where it should have gone in the first place.

I couldn't agree more with you pess.
The kafala system means that the 1.2 million foreign workers currently in Qatar are treated as bonded labour. Workers even need the employers permission to leave the country. It's slavery in so many words.

I think it was some representatives from the Scottish FA that highlighted the disgusting way the workers/slaves are treated in Qatar. I hope the World Cup is taken away from Qatar.

Apparently Australia have an eye on the investigation and if Qatar are found guilty and lose the competition Oz want it.

Australia should have been awarded it in the first place as their bid was the best.
If the World Cup is taken away from Qatar then surely Platinis position in FIFA and UEFA becomes untenable as he is the only delegate with voting rights to openly admit he voted for Qatar.
I expect the Swiss Francs he received are untraceable.

Australia would be the perfect destination for the World Cup in 2022. I hope they get it.

I'm just surprised it's taken so long for FIFA to 'catch up' with the IOC.

Can't see why it should go to Australia...after all they openly paid the well known crook Hargatay millions of dollars for his 'networking' skills. It is not as though the Aussie bid was squeaky clean. I don't think it would go down too well here with major budget cutbacks in goverment as well. This is quite a good article on why Australia shouldn't put up its hand: Article

I think it shows just how sordid the whole World Cup bidding process that supposed 'underdogs' such as Australia still resorted to barely legit practices.

Does anyone think it will calm down after this tournament though ?.Qatar will sue FIFA for every last penny they own if it's taken off them , can't see it happening personally.

That said, Qatar is a completely unsuitable and unworkable as a venue to hold a World Cup and so it will have to be changed, if not now then further along the line. It won't happen.
