Just seen the goals. Defending was awful for the first three goals. Defenders went AWOL on all three. Just not good enough at any level and certainly at League 1 where you will get punished for such lapses.

I'd have taken six points from nine if offered it on Christmas day.
I think he tried to park the bus today but got it wrong. I'm glad I didn't go.

Lawrence has made 2 cameo appearances. Mansell 4 appearances (some as sub). Sinclair hasn't played for 3 weeks, and they get picked in front of the midfield that has won the last 2 games. Regardless of what DC said, it was his choice that lost us the game. Charlton always play with pace, and to put it bluntly I have more pace than either Mansell or Lawrence. regarding Lockyer, it is DC's choice to play him every game and it was Dc's choice to make him captain (bad choice imho) Why DC cannot put his hands up and say "that was down to me" I don't know regardless of the selection,it said on the radio we gave there big striker 2 free headers? lawrence, mansell or sinclair surely wernt marking there main aerial threat? pick any team you want to but if your primary central defenders cant win headers and defend properly at set pieces your going to lose the match.

Exactly this. 2 unmarked headers and a tap in for their centre back. The players that came into the side did ok today, but the same back 5 who played so well against Wimbledon were an absolute second half horror show. Riddle me that Batman??

First match we missed this season. Some transfer activity must be inevitable after seeing how the defence performed in the second half. Selection was poor; the players today, were simply not up to it.

There's no way around it, dc has to take responsibility for the inconsistency in performances and results when he makes bafflingly inconsistent changes.
I was bemused with his team selection at 2.15pm and knew then it was gonna be a long day.
But, tbf Manse/Lawrence/Sincs done ok first half. Just ok. I also thought (goal conceded apart) we kept defensive shape, structure and discipline. Just, we were always reactive rather than proactive..
Second half was defensive calamity and quite frankly, woeful. So then, you look to the rest of the team and tbh there's just not enough goals in easter/gaff/manse/sincs/lawrence.
Someone cracked the joke of the day <re team selection> at 2.15....is this a checkatrade trophy match?! Good job sense of humour because we were comprehensively beaten and on pitch was a waste of time and money.
So to sum up, we got what we deserved because you can't change so many good performed with replacements that haven't had anywhere as near game time or quality. Why do it?

Why do it? so all the 5 players dc kept in the team performed well then? much better obviously than the other 6?

The highlights do illustrate how a couple of experienced defenders from this level are needed.. IMO

Lines/ollie/bodin/taylor/monty were the 5best performers v wombles, imo, to leave all of them out was a mistake.. I actually thought Byron done ok today 😊

The highlights do not reflect well on Tom Lockyer. He's switched off completely on the first two and is completely missing on the fourth.

9-2 to Charlton on aggregate for the season! I'm guessing that's the worst in a season since we played Tottenham a very long time ago? Ah but we lost the first one 5-1, so there is some progress as it was only 4-1 today.

I agree with you completely, so when we need goals just to keep pace, where are they more likely to come from?

You don't solve the problem by outscoring good teams, you have to stop them scoring, at the expense of scoring yourself if necessary. Which is what I think he tried to do today, and the defence let him down.

So in that case you need goals to keep pace. And that's where I think dc made mistake by making so many changes by replacing with players whom aren't gonna score enough to cover defensive errors.. In my opinion..

4-1 Magennis hat trick...Puddy at fault How? I can't see that having watched the highlights. I think you've made that assumption having heard the Radio Bristol commentator wondering if Puddy should have come out for it.
