Is that the effect Ecstasy has?! Haha! For the first goal, James Clarke holds back their fella intent on closing Colkett down. Very subtle, but a definite foul.

A caller to BBC Radio Manchester after the game made the same point, and also complained that they should have had a penalty in the second half. (I didn't notice either, probably because both incidents would have been at the far end*). The pundit in the studio took the view that he hadn't seen anything wrong. * Note: Away fans are now housed in the "Chaddy End", opposite where Gasheads were sat during the late '90s and '00s.

Their forum is most complimentary, for the team and our support. Convinced there was a lot more than 800 of us mind!
They were rather scathing about their own vocal support (or lack of) That 'Atheltico's section at the other end with the shirtless lad & his mates waving flags was a tad embarrassing. But they did try, bless em.
I also had a group of yoof giving it some lip outside the ground, one of them was carrying a drum (which I was preparing to wrap round his loaf) but I'm fairly sure I didn't hear one throughout the whole game? Probably too immersed in the Sincs/Colkett masterclass!

I heard the drum.
The comments on the Oldham forum about the pigeon on the wing giving us more trouble than their team is hilarious.
They at least have a sense of humour.

Other sideways glances from the match yesterday:
- on the full highlights, see the first-half Zidane turn from Boateng which the keeper Riley just managed to thwart.
- in his late cameo appearance, Montano enjoyed a lot of attacking play, including reaching the bye-line and squaring the ball back for Taylor AND Gaffney (who unfortunately couldn't capitalise). I'd forgotten that Monty had played for Oldham and (whether in response to some stick on the day, or remembering past grudges, I don't know) was very keen to let the Oldham fans know he was on the winning side with Rovers!
- at the final whistle, James Clarke went to retrieve his water bottle from the far touchline and (probably born of frustration with Oldham's season so far) some "mature" Oldham fans went to the front of the stand to have a verbal go at him. Jimmy just turned away and walked back across the pitch...but was polite enough to wave farewell to the angry men with a discreet, unorthodox hand gesture behind his back!
- as a final, defiant, futile gesture, about half a dozen ten-year olds wished the Gasheads a safe journey home, by chanting "F*@$ off, Bristol" as we left the ground. Made me smile!

Montano was sacked by Oldham over allegations of match fixing wasn't he? He was cleared if I remember rightly, but he was pretty pissed off at the way he was treated.
