I have mixed feelings about Colkett, chuffed we've got him but tinged with disappointment that he's far too good for us to ever have a hope him staying longer term. True - Chelsea will want to progress him next year with a step up to a championship level side. However, if we treat him right and DC does manage the improbable promotion hat trick then that step up could still be with us! It was good to hear how much he's enjoying it with us at least...and obviously we're enjoying what we are seeing from him.

Thanks for report, Mg..
DC said we looked more comfortable when we were at 4-4-2 in post match interview.
Thing is, so many can see this. Why don't we secure our position in matches earlier with this stance and take a more dominant, assertive approach?

I think this result was doubly important as 1. Oldham beat the league leaders during the week and 2. this was our first clean sheet of the season. A really great result with what I think is our best team line up.

Definitely not Karl Robinson's.

Why don't we secure our position in matches earlier with this stance and take a more dominant, assertive approach? But we were more dominant at the start without 4-4-2 today. We were on top and more assertive in the first half, and were winning at half-time. What DC was saying was we were more comfortable when we went to 4-4-2, at the time we were under pressure, later on in the game. Oldham were at home, and losing, and were bound to press us to try to get back into it after half-time. Anyway, there's no guarantee that starting with 4-4-2 we'd sail away and build a commanding lead. My preferred formation is 4-4-2, but DC likes to bring on wingers, fresh legs, when the game is stretched, near the end Starting with 4-4-2 you're not going to get 90 minutes of what we've seen in the last 10 minutes of some games this season.

anyone who was there at MK done's will say that it was DC's set up in the first half. That is when the damage was done really ( and Roos going for a spectacular ' glory save' when a push round the bar would have been fine.) but it was sublime skill and lots of determination that got us back. If that game had gone on another 10 minutes we would have won. It was the same as Carlisle last season - odd set up. I still believe DC might actually be the Son of God however and sometimes he does things to make us wiser.

Just back.Outsung them easily. One chant about wanting to go home as Oldham is a dump was very funny when they replied,'We know it's a dump and want to go home too',(Bit ruder than that in reality). Great Gas atmosphere in the pubs and promised not to publish this one of a particularly vociferous bunch!!!! Hope Hartley not too badly injured.Immense.

Posted the same thing before, and will again. Not a day goes by when I don't have to pinch myself to believe what's happened in the last 2 and a bit seasons. And what makes it even better, the Sheds will be hating every second of it Half of them probably thought they had seen the last of us after the Mansfield game.

Very good first half, chalk and cheese compared to MK,sinclair very good again and Roos second half made a couple of excellent saves, bringing on Monty and Moore stopped them getting so many crosses in and we were a lot more comfortable. Was concerned when Hartly had to go off but Clarke-Salter did really well, when he got the second it made the final few minutes a lot less stressfull. Another great day on the road with the gas. Other than the effing M6 bloody nightmare.

Played within ourselves, never really looked that stretched, kept Oldham at arms length but when needed Roos excelled. A pleasing professional performance after Tuesdays mess.

That was the best line up I have seen so far and I would like DC to keep that side for a game or two (yellow cards permitting). It was a great result. He won't but I can wish. Tricky isn't it,the old school way of thinking is to play a settled team, fair play to DC though he gets it right much more often than getting it wrong, onwards and upwards as it's clear whoever plays that to a man they seem to have forgotten how to lose, UTG.

I think Darrell and Steve would of done a decent defencive training session since the MK Dons game. I fancy Rovers to win.Say uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh 0 2. A clean sheet? Are you mad? 😄 Hopefully but somehow I doubt it. Huh huh.

I think you've touched on something there, 1986, with settled team. It seems these days a settled squad is more important. We may win, lose or draw but one thing we can be assured of is there will be changes, natural selection will work itself out and everyone plays a part rather than apart. Great forward thinking.

As a Staffordshire resident you may know that when Stoke played away at Valencia in the Europa League, 7,000 Stokies were singing "Stoke is a s***hole I want to stay here" Class.
