Blatant foul, ref, as they always do, prancing around, making over-exaggerated motions when putting down the white lines for free kicks etc, loving every second of the attention, looked to enjoy being inconsistent, but from that foul, the ball went from the left wing to the right, where we had no left back, our next touch was picking it out of the net, again. It isn't the ref's fault that we set up with a suicide formation. It isn't Lee Brown's either, he was being asked to play 2 positions today, then we have a central defender who gets dragged wide to cover the missing left back but doesn't actually engage the opponent, he just stands there and allows the ball to be crossed. It was incredible to watch, every single person there could see what was happening, apart from the one person whose job it was to change it. As said earlier, I hope that's Darrel's 'Newport' out of the way for this season, from a tactical point of view it was a shocker. Still, one consolation, the referee's assessor's report will state that all of the officials got all of the important decisions correct Suicide formation is exactly right, really not sure what DC is doing at the moment with this 3 at the back nonsense? We were horribly exposed to the counter attack today - it doesn't work and he knows it doesn't work because he always has to change it. Not panicking or calling for his head or anything like that, it's a long season...but WTF is he doing??? Genuinely baffled. its clear that hartley is not happy in a back 3 and struggled badly today as he did v bolton,he obviously is only comfortable when he plays centre-back in a 4 man defence so i very much hope that dc has noticed this, the same could also probably be said of james clarke who for me had a shocker today. hopefully its just a part of the process of working out the best team and set up in a higher level and with several new players to bed in. it was a strange game today but at least we got a point

250 Mile round journey for us.Disappointing day.No width.Easter /Bodin poor and no shots between them.Loved Boeteng. Our passing overall was very poor.Thank goodness we have MT as no-one else looked like scoring. Why does CL have to take every single corner which always come to nothing?

Best way to describe today was naive tactics in team selection and formation applied. Poor. Positives were, everyone making a debut had positive contributions to their game. Our 35 played a fine ball into box causing havoc, brilliancy and switched on. Not enough time to judge. Boat bloke was for me, our m o m. This is quality. And left footed. Fantastic. Keeps.....hmmmmm.....made fine save late on. Although was never at fault for both goals I'm still not inspired by confidence. Kicking and distribution ok. Unforgivable defending allowing every cross time and space on flanks for them to pick out their man. Rochdale must be licking themselves they never marched on from winning position. Their 39 was m o m and their number 2 set up second goal from a right wing back position, but never got forward again after that! Shame, as was so looking forward to today. First Saturday home match since pitch invasion in May, and was thoroughly disappointed. actually thought that Roos committed hisself too early for the first goal and ended up in nomansland giving an easy finish for the scorer,

Keeper was partly at fault for the first goal, caught in no mans land. However,if Taylor did not lose the ball in the first place, the situation would not have arisen. That said, you can't really criticise a guy who scored two goals! I don't know what the defence were doing for the second and could not believe offside was no given at the time. Not so sure seeing the replay. Three at the back just des not work. We make trams look dangerous by allowing them touch room to exploit the flanks. We also let people run at us too much. We also looked second best when Rochdale went down to ten. They were the ones asking most questions. Very disappointing performance but we still got a draw. Hopefully Tuesday will be better, as well as the drive to Bristol (which was double the time I normally take to get to the ground).

Thoroughly enjoyed that. Rochdale won't be in the drop zone if they continue to play great counter attacking football away from home.
Not sure why Roos seems to be getting slated,as he wasn't at fault for either goal and handled the ball really well.
I feel sorry for Lee Brown though, he's isolated in that formation.
Major plus points: Taylor looking like he's on fire again, Boateng is a menace and young Charlie looks like a game changer.
Bring on Warsaw.

If roles were reversed, you would expect one of our players to score in that situation. Which they did. As much as I think the jury is out on Roos, I can't attribute blame to him for either goal. They were ruthless (as Keith Hill rightly observed) for their two goals and should have scored more in first half.

Why does CL have to take every single corner which always come to nothing? On average, only 2% of all corners end up in goals. That's one in 50.
I think we've scored 2 goals from corners this season, which is actually pretty good.

brizzle. What I don't get, injuries aside, is why we don't set up to attack ALL of the teams that come to our place ? I do sometimes wonder if the success has gone to his head and it would with most other gaffers. I see a very stubborn man in DC and it's done us proud so far but I do feel that the 3rd tier has changed a lot since we were last there and it's unrecnisabke to the old 3rd tier that we were used to seeing us play in I heard a lot of people say that the step up to 2nd tier is the biggest in the FL plus we now have several yoyo teams. You only need to hit one bullseye so to speak, to get the huge payment that comes with being a prem club. I didn't realise that our own promotion meant we went from getting a million for the FL to 2.5 in L1. As much as I will defend DC's right to do it his way, there is a part of me that wonders if he has reached his zenith. I know he would probably not tolerate having an advisor but I can't help but think that he could benefit from a more experienced guy alongside him or just around him, to get some feedback on tactics ? We are now very much a known quantity and teams are coming to play us, knowing we are often slow to get moving and can concede early. I'd be interested of one of the statto blokes could give the amount of games where we have gone behind first and then had to come back to get a draw or win. Surely there must be talk about why we don't play to our strengths from the off ?

Formation was too narrow in midfield and Brown was isolated against their 39 all first half. It was a frustrating game and one where I think DC didnt quite know what to do with the options he had. There were positives Boateng looked useful but needs more fitness I think. Taylor will score if give a chance. Ellis was useful when he came on. Just need to find something that works and stsrt games off on a better footing and am.sure we will pick up points. We have a team that doesnt give up and some have come a long way which we need to remember. I dont/didnt expect us to storm the division but do see positives that we will be ok. This is probably the most balanced view. I don't know if you use Facebook but some of the comments are just awful. I was only saying that I remember the moaning when we were last a L1 side and it's been very quick to start. I did not go but my friend told me he felt em attacked by many of the comments and moaning in the ground. It's an odd situation when we get the larger than 6K crowds, we seem to get more who undermine and who will boo. We seem better supported by the lower crowds. That is really a strange one

We're 19th in the league, with 2 games in hand that would see us up to at least 9th if we were to win them both. This is just 2 years on from playing in the Conference. So far, we've been unlucky to only draw against Rochdale and Southend; easlily beaten a team that finished above us last year; and lost against the teams currently occupying places 1 and 2 in the league - one of which was a close game. Oh, and we've beaten a championship team and lost by the odd goal in 5 to Chelsea.
Saying that the mamnager may have reached his zenith on the basis of the above results is just silly.
