There are similarities between his career and Shaun Wright-Phillips I think. Both moved to a big club and then got buried in the squad at a crucial stage of their careers when they should have been playing every week. Bottom line is - speedy wide attacking players peak earlier and these guys became impact squad players at exactly the point at which they could have become stars at a lesser club. I just think it's an example of some of the perverse incentives that exist in the Premier League. I'd rather have watched Sinclair be a star for, say, Everton every week than a bit part player (at best) for Man City. But that was where he spent the prime of his career. Hardly his fault - the decision to go to City made perfect sense from his point of view but it meant we never really got to see how good he might have been. I know he was injured and that played a major role too but still it's a story that plays out time and time again. A player does very well, proves himself, and then dissapears into the squad of a big club never to be seen again.
