Very little between too average sides, we will learn from it but certainly didn't play badly at all and there's only 45 to go after all! Great day out with the usuals, Onto the next

Concerned to have lost, but the future is very bright. We'd have taken our current position two years ago and it appears we are still competitive at this level. UTG

Mid table this year will be very good. Think we will be 12 to 16th in the table, which will be fine. I hope we do better and flirt with the play offs. I call that The Trollope Sacking Zone. Really? We were in 21St place when he was granted gardening leave. Though I think the board were a bit hasty because there were a lot of positives to take away from the 6-2 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday

Leads played wide right midfield, so we started 4 at the back.
The usual events with DC is that he starts with his chosen 11 and later when there are problems (some may say because of poor selection and/or tactics) puts on subs (some say who should have been on at the start) who turn things around, that did not work yesterday as our subs made little impact and upset the make up of the team.
I feel Bodin should start and Leads should stay at right back. The first two subs affected midfield and defence, hence the chap was able to waltz through the midfield and then shoot and score.

We appeared naive in our defending higher up the pitch and too many unforced errors with giving the ball away made it frustrating to play to our potential. Sincs and Gaff were manhandled almost every time the ball went to them with little or no reprimand. Bodin's shot narrowly wide definitely took a deflection. I would like to see Taylor/Gaff link up more. Taylor could get closer to Gaff for support when ball played to him. When Ellis replaced, he sometimes fell deeper allowing Taylor a more lone role up front - less effective. A disappointing result for all the hard work put in for hour. We should take huge positives though.....we competed with a club that almost made play offs yesterday for large chunk of match. Not perfect by any means, but nevertheless encouraging.. On a side note, hilarious character that took some banter wearing blue to the left of us! Could've been a world record getting ejected 15mins of first match, start of season!? !
