The managing director of Oxford City football club has been found dead at the non-league team’s ground. A member of the public called the police at 9.20am on Sunday after discovering a man’s body.
A statement on the Conference South club’s website said:“It is with the deepest sadness that the directors of the club have to announce the sudden passing of managing director Colin Taylor. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Colin’s family and friends at this time.”
Taylor, 62, had been a director at the club for15 years, having been appointed in 2001, according to a companyrecords website.
A Thames Valley police spokeswoman said: “At this stage there appear to be no suspicious circumstances and a file is being prepared for the coroner. The next of kin has been informed and the family have asked for privacy at this difficult time.”
Fans paid tribute to Taylor on social media

This is not really news for this forum, sad as it is, even though we played them in a friendly some time ago.

He was a Rovers fan maybe I agree any passing is to be lamented and by all accounts I have read Colin Taylor was a real footballing man. I should have written that the General Football Chat area would have been a more appropriate section of the forum, no disrespect was intended.
