I have spoken with Charlotte Leslie this morning via twitter. I asked her what tiggered her letter to sainsburys and question at pmqs.
She stated that the club mentioned the stadium was delayed due to legal issues but were not forthcoming about what these issues were. As a result she was concerned.
This for me is important as her actions have triggered all these concerns about Sainsburys pulling out but there is not actually any evidence to suggest that. Rovers have mentioned contracts needing to be finalised, planning documents continue to be submitted.
For me its the familiar tale of the clubs poor communication this time with Charlotte Leslie rather then anything to suggest Sainburys pulling out. This for me is good news and i feel a lot more confident. (From about 1% sure we will get a stadium to about 50%) :-)
If i was the club i would be very open with Charlotte after all the support she has given.

I totally agree regarding Charlotte Leslie. Whatever his motives or party politics, she has tried her best for the club over quite a period of time now.
As for the rest we'll just have to wait and see, and hope that at some point in the not-too-distant future, an announcement will be made that will let us all know exactly where we stand. Even allowing for legal constraints, is that asking too much?

"She stated that the club mentioned the stadium was delayed due to legal issues but were not forthcoming about what these issues were." So not only do the Board not communicate with the fans and treat them with utter contempt - they do the same to the local supportive MP! Great consistency from the Board. Hats off to you! Great job.

That might well be a "political" statement. ie "I do know but I can't tell you" by either the Club or CL.
On many issues the Clubs PR is appalling. However I'm not sure what they can tell us at present if "negotiations" are going on in the background. Surely better for them (sadly for us wanting to know) to keep quiet?
Edit - PS my mood towards this does change dependent upon which side of the bed I get out, the weather and well...

Sainsbury also say there are legal issues "to be resolved" but will not say what those issues are.

And that is what has worried the Baywatch babe and the fans.
I appreciate Nick Higgs probably couldn’t/wouldn’t tell CL the ins and outs of it, but if they spoke and Nick said it was just formalising a few things and getting signatures then we are good to go then I doubt CL would have felt worried.
Legal issues could be anything from formalising it to arguing over compo

This issue will surely be on the time scale ... did Sainsburys agree a price based on being on site by a certain date, has that date now moved? if so compo will surely be required by sainsburys... the worry is say its a years delay ... Sainsburys could be looking at claiming a years profit in compo!! ie millions!!

I assume experience has taught Sainsbury's and their business partners that sometimes zero release of news is better than a little bit, which may of led to someone letting the cat out of the bag too early in the past.

Seems odd to me if it is just "legal issues" that CL goes as far as asking at PMQ for Sainsbury's to get a move on, as it could just as easily be down to Rovers or BCC......unless CL's not saying all she knows?

I think that CL has been brilliant for us.
What I find hard to believe though is that after CL heard about 'legal issues' she then did all this off her own bat.
I find it hard to believe that discussions didn't take place along the lines of either: - The BoD asked for assistance. or - CL offered assistance and suggested the joint MPs letter and raising the matter at PMQT.
If CL was concerned, surely she would have explained these steps as possible actions to the BoD first, and if the BoD thought it wouldn't be of assistance (or even may be a detriment to the process) they would have said so.
