How good was that!
Especially when you are sat next to some yokels who were cranking up the volume as we went into the last over
Man of the night goes to Tilley- that man showed some real balls

As a Somerset fan was following at home on BBC website and it looks like the lad hit first ball of final over for six. Good luck to him but again Somerset look like they couldn't close out the match. Shame for us but am sure Gloucestershire were celebrating. Long way to go yet but we need to win matches like that.

For us this season's 20/20 goes from bad to worse. Come on Somerset!! We have certainly not got our recruitment correct so far!

It's funny isn't it - Somerset keep splashing out on these massive signings but on the whole their T20 performances have been a bit underwhelming. I wonder if that is partly because T20 in England is a bit different than T20 in other countries - tends to be lower scoring, less pyrotechnics etc.

Gayle hasn't worked so well this year and Jayawardene hasn't been overly successful so you are right about these. Pete Trego has done well as ever, now that he's not bowling so much he is concentrating on his batting. I get the feeling that Allenby as a captain isn't the answer esp as he's not succeeding as a player. I understand they are trying to have a more specialist 20/20 team and it was pre arranged that Rogers, Tres would not play this season but also to exclude Hildreth on occasions has been strange. Look at the county averages and then imagine losing the above players from your team, it would seem silly. But that's what they've done. In the big picture am not too worried about not doing well in the 20/20 and if these players come good in the 4 day game this weekend it will be proved a good strategy. If....! You are right about the difference in 20/20 in England, it is less pressured and there is something not quite the same as the IPL or Big Bash. I think it's what we said at the beginning of season, change is coming and perhaps everyone's marking time until the changes are made. But that's just my perspective as a Somerset fan. I am sure the Gloucestershire fans feel differently after a very good show so far this season in the competition. I hope they qualify, do well and win it. Cricket is different from football isn't it? I genuinely hope Gloucs do well, I could never wish BCFC good luck to win something!!

I genuinely hope Gloucs do well, I could never wish BCFC good luck to win something!! I'm surprised how wel Gloucestershire have done to be honest. Under Dawson, they seem to have developed a knack of being very disciplined and sticking to game plans. I get the impression that this is a team that has very good attitude that perhaps allows them to be greater than the sum of their parts. Somerset in T20 on the other hand seem to be less than the sum of their parts. You'd say that it would just be a case of prioritising 4 day cricket but that doesn't really square with the signings of Gayle and Jayawardene. Somerset's white ball cricket has definitely gone backwards in the last few years and it's hard to really understand why when on the face of it they have the players to compete with the best. I think maybe the Alfonso Thomas retirement hit them harder than they expected. Still, having said all that they'll probably demolish Surrey tonight!

Yes you are right about the signings showing intent but I am unsure about the captain, Allenby, and his ability to get the best out of our youngsters. Yes, missing Alphonso has been important but Lewis G, the Overtons, Max W and Leach should be able to replace him. But as you say as a county we have gone backwards in the white ball game. The coaching is at fault because they haven't made players better and that must be the main focus of any coaching team IMO. Our coaches haven't made us a better 20/20 team when they should have done because they have some very, very good cricketers to work with. Gloucs team are like Rovers, the team are better than the sum of the individuals and with a good attitude. I don't see that in Somerset at the moment in one day cricket. 5 years ago we had one of the best teams in white ball cricket who were hardened cricketers with a great attitude. I hope the powers that be analyse what made us good and act accordingly! I hope Gloucs keep on winning and do well.
