I'm fascinated how you can be team mates when you have never played together before. Clarke left Hartlepool in May 2007, Hartley signed for Hartlepool in May 2009. Rarely can I agree with you but are people now believing what the EP posts as ' facts'. Oh dear me.

So, Rickie Lambert was/is a journeyman. Manse? Mildenhall? Any others who have played for Rovers?

So, Rickie Lambert was/is a journeyman. Manse? Mildenhall? Any others who have played for Rovers? Mansell played over 400 games for Torquay, so he's not a journeyman. Lambert was. Mildenhall is a goalkeeper, they don't count. Who suggested journeyman was a criticism? Hartley doesn't fit the mould of young and/or unproven that Darrell Clarke seems to favour. He might do well. He might not.

Never heard of him (before). Don't know anything about him. Has played against us and gone unnoticed. Was unremarkable. No one here recounted anything he has done - ever.
.....sounds like a good signing! In dc, we trust..

"Mansell played over 400 games for Torquay" (381) and 4 other clubs 5 clubs seems to be some people's proof of journeyman status.

Hmmm. A bit 'journeyman' for my liking. I was hoping we'd sign the other one. Anyway, welcome Peter, and good luck. i guess a "journeyman" is a player who has played for a few clubs without really getting to championship level or above? as long as hes a player who can perform well in league one next season thats ok with me. mansell could easily be called a "journeyman" but hes been a tremendous player for us in my view

Everyone is on a 'journey' these days"..........'I'm on a journey' is all I ever f&@king hear. Oh yes along with 'it's in my DNA' I don't care whether he is a journeyman on a journey because it's in his DNA; he is a defender who can score a goal with head or feet, and has done so a number of times - TICK

I think some are mixing up the definition of a journeyman due to its use in boxing where it's not a compliment

Getting back to Hartley signs, I am encouraged to see the goals he has scored. A threat we have sadly missed for a number of years. Potentially a very good signing.

i think a lot of our fans are expecting 4 or 5 established championship players to be signed backed by massive amounts of our new owners cash but i dont think thats going to happen,i think the idea is to bring players in to steadily improve the team and hartley fits the bill for me.

Potentially a very good signing. yes. bizarre stat from last season = Lee Brown was the only defender who scored a goal for us. Some midfielders didn't even join in either. Ducks from Jake Gosling, Chris Lines, Mark McChrystal, Tom Parkes, James Clarke, Tom Lockyer, and Daniel Leadbitter, with an astonishing 217 appearances between them to try to hit a barn door with a banjo.

journeyman? He's been contracted to 3 clubs at 28. Please explain how he is a journeyman. Please explain why he left his hometown club, of which he was captain, to join Stevenage. And its five clubs, assuming he's signed for us. Not knocking him, just not the Plymouth defender I wanted to sign. That's all. Pools were relegated and he presumably didn't fancy playing in Lge 2. Also Stevenage paid an "undisclosed five-figure sum" for him apparently. Did same at Stevenage when they went down the next season. He's never been seen in the same room as Jo Kuffour either...
