If this is faked someone went to a lot of trouble for no actual gain, apart from being a minor irritant to the few people who believe it (ie me). But then I suppose that's half of what t'internet is about. Must be said the FA has been very leaky recently with players/teams of the year and England squads

If true, not sure what the missus would think about me going to Bolton on our anniversary

This happens every year. It won't be the real fixtures, it'll be some sort of test to make sure the fixture computer is working.
Or a very bored geek.

This could be genuine but my guess is that we will be home on Sat Aug 13 as it is the weekend of the Bristol Balloon festival and Mr Plod does not allow the Teds to be home that weekend. Of course they could be away as well, most unlikely tho.

The clubs do receive the proposed fixtures several weeks before they are released so that they can request date changes. There's a good chance that this is genuine but I wouldn't book any train tickets until the confirmed fixtures are released.

Wimbledon away on Boxing Day again? As an Essex Gashead this is annoying because I will never do a Boxing Day fixture and Wimbledon is one of the precious few away days doable on the Tube.

Smacks of authenticity: Bolton and S****horpe midweek away, sounds right!
PS got nothing against Scunthorpe, the website kindly does the asterisks!

Confirmed by the official Football League twitter feed that this is a hoax. Back to bed everyone.

The Football League Clubs actually get draft fixtures 24 hours before official release to check them and clashes with other Clubs in the area and police cover etc

Swindon on the last day of the season could be tasty if either team needed anything for promotion/play offs/relegation.
Is anything worked into the fixture computer to avoid fixtures that have a high chance of trouble taking place at crucial points of the season?

I have no sympathy, anyone who gets married during the football season takes the risk!
Mind you, Glos have Somerset on June 17th, I had better mention to her soon that if she wants to go out for an anniversary meal, it will have to be on Gloucester Road after the cricket!

If you sit below the apartment I'll rig up some sort of tray and pulley system and lower down a half nibbled pasty & a can of Natch tied with a bow on it. That should make her feel special.

Accepting it's a hoax, but it's a valid possible fixture list and, not wishing to be miserable, but one of the things about promotion is the 'ooh' factor when you see the new fixture list.
With the greatest respect to all clubs involved, I found 'Southend, Oxford, Skunthorpe, Bury, Port Vale' as openers a bit lacking in the wow factor. Maybe I've thought too much about the big names. Still, it's better than 'Morecambe, Hartlepool, Crawley, Exeter....' (or 'Braintree, Dover, Southport, Alfreton....'). It's also a reminder how out on a limb we are in this division: Swindon, Oxford, Walsall is as local as it gets (with Wimbledon as our 'fairly local' Boxing Day fixture).
As for the hoax, why would anyone bother? Is it possible the FL might currently be re-running the process to produce another, thus 'proving' this one was a hoax?
