A big day for Grimsby today. I always thought Craig Disley was a top bloke - I met him once in Portishead and we reminisced about that last minute goal at Millwall. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed hoping he leads them to the play-off victory today.

sounds like they will have around there 14,00 or so today, and vgr around 4,000 , reckon if they don't do it today this would probably be Disley's last throw at getting into the FL ,best of luck to him and his team,after4 straight goes, something has to go for them today

Looking good and now in added time. Looks like the Mariners will be back to the FL and I am very happy for them. As much as I was so happy we won, I and we all know what that awful journey back home feels like, after the devastation of loss. Well done Grimsby and I wish you well
3-1. Get in Mariners

Feel quite emotional to be honest. Just brings back last seasons emotions! Well done Grimsby! Had a wry smile at the emotions on the faces of the supporters (both sets) as the game progressed. Was thinking - did I look like that last year or 2007 or even a couple of weeks ago? Yep - probably - most definitely more likely. Gawd - is that what football does for you? Even felt a sense of relief for Grimsby as the final whistle went - their story these last few years must have been a frustrating/emotional one for all involved. And they do it all again next week.......! Expensive business that for the fans.

I think our final was May 17 but it seems that this years final is a lot earlier than it felt in the season we had our conference play off. Did the conference season finish earlier than our L2 season ?

Well done Disley and co. well the "i wanna be a big club team".... just are not...and don't think they ever will be............. 4,000 is about all they could muster in what WAS the biggest game in the clubs history.. tells a story. Vince needs to look where he should be planting his energy efficient pounds to see where they will the shine brightest.... and as i look at it ...it ain't where they are glowing dim at the moment... well done GTFC, and CAPTAIN DISLEY

I enjoyed the game among the Grimsby supporters, even though they mostly sang one song and they also had an irritating band. The second half was quite dull I thought, but Forest Green did give it a go. It was good to see Disley lift the cup at the end, Pipe was doing his usual job and Monkhouse looked quite smart in a suit. Grimsby made the same kind of noise as last year and good luck to them.

Just had the pleasure of spending an hour in the company of a Grimsby fan who lives in.... wait for it.... Nailsworth... He says it's the best day of his life Lovely bloke, I'm genuinely delighted for him. Proper League club back where they belong.

I personally think Grimsby were a better side last season, FGR were just awful....god knows how they ended up 9 points ahead.
Grimsby keeper is decent, and Arnold. Bogle is raw but has potential. Apart from that the rest will struggle in L2.
Marsh-Brown looks a talent for FGR but has off field issues?

Marsh-Brown looks a talent for FGR but has off field issues? The thing is with Forest Green is the way they recruit is fundamentally wrong. When the going gets tough, their players show themselves up to be bollocksless mercenaries. They did last season against us in the Playoffs, they did yesterday against Grimsby. Long may it continue. They've not got a mercenary as a manager, will throw more cash about at more bollockless mercenaries and hopefully the likes of York, Tranmere, Wrexham, Torquay & Halifax will get their s**t together and keep them down.

I watched the FGR play off semi 2nd leg and they looked awful then bar Marsh-Brown. I actually liked the look of Dovers players Miller, Payne and Deverdics and think they would have given Grimsby a better game. I don't particularly have anything against FGR but when you hear the arrogance of Vince Dale it makes you instantly back their opposition! I hate Eastleigh more, lots of players underperforming on above average wages, total mercenaries.

17,198. We can safely say we took at least 30K then. That's a pi55 poor attendance from FGR.

The attendance was respectable. What's not respectable is a millionaire chucking money at them in pursuit of a publicity coup. It makes a mockery of the football pyramid and deserves nothing but contempt and scorn. And ridicule.
