So all senior pros barring Rory Fallon offered new deals, hopefully Lawrence's gets lost in the post.
Decisions still to be made on first and second year pros, but all scholars barring Kilgour released.
Can someone remind me who the scholars are, does that include Greenslade, Lucas, Broom, Malpas, Thomas, Mehew etc?

I'd give Lawrence a coaching role, he has bags of experience and played at the top level, but no way would be an asset on the pitch in L1, unless we could bring him on for free kicks.

The scholars are players who play in the U'18s, you have 1st year scholars (those of year 12 school age), and 2nd year scholars (those of year 13 school age). The U'18s have had a poor season so i'm not surprised that only 1 2nd year scholar has graduated, although i thought Blake Davies might have made the grade. I've been told that most of the U'18s are 1st year scholars, so this time next year i expect there will be a few more graduates. Broom, Preston, Lyttle & Malpas have just finished there first year as a pro Greenslade, Thomas & Lucas have just finished there second year as a pro

Totally disagree with this, the last few games he played his incisive short passing was superb, we cant just rely on Lines for central creativity in the middle of the park.

I think the decision to offer all a new contract was the right one. The togetherness and team spirit it helped support was maybe just what got us over the line. There's a few who may not be up to L1 level but the whole was greater than the parts in L2 and Im sure this will be the case next season.

The sun is shining. Beware the impact of adverse weather and blizzards in particular.
I remember a Dominic Blizzard being introduced as it would improve the quality of side relative to Disley.
Trolls ultimately lost his job because it was felt that somehow our players were not good enough for League 1 and we injected players who offered no more quality, cost significantly more and undermined a good team spirit.

Who knows, he seems like a leader-type and as I said he has a wealth of experience and played top level so that seems to fit the criteria.
This would give us Yates, Lawrence and Stewie.....defender, midfielder and striker in the coaching roles!

He is ok against the lesser teams of L2, but L1 is out of his reach as Shrewsbury found out.
Maybe if we stayed in L2 but now we are promoted i'd only see him beneficial in a coaching role. There will be a lot of younger, better winger options available out there

Ah well I wouldn't give him a coaching role without having seen him coach. Most important criteria is - can he throw a number of cones, like frisbees, into a perfect circle? If he can't do that, then sorry not hired.

Trolls ultimately lost his job because it was felt that somehow our players were not good enough for League 1 and we injected players who offered no more quality, cost significantly more and undermined a good team spirit. Spot on vaughanthe sum of the players is what made this team. We found out, under Trollope, that buying players in and dismembering a squad full of team spirit, was the wrong decision. We have had periods under Gerry Francis and Ollie, where the team spirit made a huge impact and showed that hard work and the right attitude trumped individual talent and ability. I will never underestimate what can happen when you habe a team full of players that feel united in their cause. I am glad that the squad are being offered contracts but we don't know what terms are being offered though I do trust that we have a manager and people in place that will make the right decisions that are in the best interests of the club. We really don't need to go back to buying in mercenary players now and I would hope we have learned from our mistakes.
