As long as we're looking and proceeding UP not DOWN, and sustainably, then I'm happy. We're some way off Leicester City though.

Leicester City have had to get to the top of the tree to demonstrate that dreams can come true and that there's not a lot that's impossible with hard work, determination and a bit of tenacity. To be honest, I look at our lads and how they've gone from being conference players a year or so ago to being just shy of being automatically promoted into league one today, and I see that already. Matty Taylor's hat trick at Wycombe might not have made lasting headlines across the world, but I've only got to look at the pic of the beaming faces of the team when they came together to help him celebrate to feel inspired (those grins are mostly why that pic is my desktop wallpaper). I don't think I could have any more respect for our lads than I do. The Gas might not have the finances associated with Leicester City, but the boys have got the grit by the bucket-load. I don't see us being the next LC, but then again, you never know. I didn't see us reaching the present heady heights either. I mean, well-connected, wealthy Jordanian owners and...(gasp!) a new scoreboard? Don't tell me you all saw that lot coming!

Could we be the next club, that is not among the traditional 5/6 clubs, to challenge the upper echelons of the Premier League. With our new wealthy owner, a new stadium on the way and fantastic support we could be in The Foxes shoes in 10 years time! Your rugby division has a great chance of emulating Leicester Tigers with their own wealthy owner, stadium facelift nearly complete and a good away win in the first leg of the playoff semi. Plus all those new supporters enticed to watch a game with their dual season cards. Only 3 wins away from premiership level sport at Trashton and a real vanity project for Lansdown to divert his millions from Football to the rugby club. it wont be cheap building a prem level rugby team capable of staying in the league. Also promotion to the premiership is automatic qualification to the european competition. I can see the football club quickly becoming the ginger step kid in the Bristol sport franchise.

Well done Leicester, but I'm glad it's over.
Utd have a nut case in charge, you would probably have got odds of 5000/1 on a PL manager talking about SM sex in a post match interview! Jose just seemed to be bored and lost interest, Wenger is happy to be an apologist and take the public flak in exchange for £8m a year so that Kronke can buy a new $725,000,000 ranch, Citeh don't have strength in depth, they are brilliant when all fit but take a couple of key players out and they are bang average. Worst Premier League ever.
Spurs have been OK to watch, but apart from that, including Leicester, it's been dreadful.
Fingers crossed Pep and Conte will shake it up a bit.

Funny how the top two were the teams with the fittest players and used the same starting 11 more often than not. Arsenal, utd, city, chelsea all self destructed this season and contrived to hand Leicester the title. But Leicester earned it and won with a simple gameplan that kept working.

It wasn't that long ago when Leicester City were in the same League as us but they do have a very wealthy owner who seems to stay in the background, although I've read something recently that suggested he'd been buying fans beer and doughnuts. Anyone who thinks we'll win the Premier League in 10 years is seriously deluded, as blue and white a fanatic I am, my fanaticism is controlled by living in the real world. Besides which the OP being a Sh!thead is more delusional than the rest of us put together

The Duke of Guernsey is not a new owner, but I'll grant he is wealthy and he is revamping the Gate, it's not a new stadium. So the answer to your question is, City will have to do a hell of a lot better than you have in recent years, despite all Stevie boy's money cole, why do you attempt this subterfuge?

Unsurprisingly this thread has now been give a link on OTIB, in their 180 plus page Rovers thread. But of course they are not obsessed...
But have to say posting as Gashead to start this, and then linking it as evidence that we are all delusional, is top WUMming!

Refreshing that the majority of respondents on here were cautious, but that will be missed on otib, I'm sure.

Gotta love them dumb feckers, how they can say a league derby is years away when they were so close to ending up back in L1 where we might find ourselves next season.
Yes they have been higher over the years but they have been buying players for millions whereas I think Andy Tillson is still our record signing, plus our own mismanagement. With a guy as rich as SL spunking his wad about they are underachieving massively, but as long as they are competing with Rotherham eh!

Leicester won the league at half the cost SL shelled out to end up back in league 1 a few seasons back.
