i just love his surging runs forward on the right wing leaving defenders desperately struggling to cover, also his neat step overs when he cuts inside, hes improved loads as a defender strong in the tackle, very quick recovery and no mug in the air. along with matty taylor and possibly tom lockyer he is our best prospect imo. what do others think?

Poor defender in my opinion. He gives the ball away far too much and his crossing is hit and more miss. Lee Brown is head and shoulders a better defender,a better crosser and more likely to score than Danny.
For a quality right full back of the past we had Neil Slatter, Ian Alexander,Michael Smith and Aaron Lescott all far better than Danny Boy.

So, Doug Hillard, Phil Roberts, David Pritchard et al didn't impress you then, Harry?

I think Doug Hillard, Phil Roberts, David Pritchard, Neil Slatter, Ian Alexander, Michael Smith and Aaron Lescott are all, for varying reasons, unavailable for selection , so am quite happy for us to stick with Danny for now. Cheer up you miserable sods, we're 4th in the league with two to go

Danny excites the crowd with his blistering pace, he may not be the worlds best but then if he was he wouldn't be in DIV 2, his crossing will have to improve and so will his tackling otherwise he won't progress. Lets not forget the number of times his pace has got us out of the mire, there have been a number of outstanding last gasp tackles put in over the season. He has the ability to go round defenders time and time again and I for one love to see him in full flow, he's young and he's ours so lets be happy with that

Danny has had a rather good season. For someone who was completely written off when he signed for us by a fair few supporters I think he's come on well. This season he's third on our assist table with 6 behind Chris Lines and Lee Brown (one less assist than Browner in 14 fewer games). Sure he can improve on his defending, but he's reasonably young, works hard for the team and I feel considering his limited league experience has done very well. He's also the fastest man on earth.

Yes, chewby. He's raced past his 25th birthday, just short of Browner's age. Why does nearly everyone think he's young?

Leadbitter is, through and through, a modern wingback. He's got mad pace, dribbles well, even his passing is nice; but all pacey wingbacks (even top-flight ones, mind you) have that bit of defensive trouble and he's no different, hence why DC sometimes go with James instead of him at right back.
IMO, if he works a bit more on his crossing and positioning, he's my first pick even if we go up.

Yes chewby, but nearly everyone who has the pleasure of standing near me at the Mem thinks he's 20/21.

Did not see enough of Hillard to really comment but yes Roberts and Pritchard again far better defenders than Leadbitter. Could also add to the list Tony Ford and Andy Gurney. Gurney was quick, strong in the tackle and scored some amazing goals.

I stand to be corrected, but I seem to remember Slatter playing on the left (and btw, was surprisingly unpopular with a fair few in the north enclosure)

He can really push the ball on very quickly and turn a potentially dangerous situation into an attacking one for us. He certainly gets the attention of our opposition

Plus remember Slatter was in Rovers third division side at age of 16/17and won his first Welsh full cap at 18 against Scotland in Cardiff. I saw his debut that day.
Typical Rovers fans having a go in the North Enclosure at a youngster, same thing happened to 17 year old Keith Curle and Josh Low both of whom went onto enjoy long careers elsewhere.
