Fair enough.
It does annoy me slightly that when european teams set off flares and smoke bombs they are often lauded as a great atmosphere etc, but as soon as an english team does so, its condemned as mindless thuggery.
Cant argue with the health implications for some.

Oh, and also stupid, pathetic, childish, moronic - and could lead to action being taken against the club that the perpetrators purport to support.

I've no wish to spoil anyone's fun but being an acute asthma sufferer the smoke from smoke bombs doesn't do me an awful lot of good. I'd like to think those who let them off don't purposely intend to cause anyone any physical harm and see it as just a bit of fun. If I see someone with a smoke bomb or about to let one off I'll happily grab them by the collar and drag them to the nearest steward.

Probably not a good idea to set these things off.
Random story that is vaguely relevant: went to a Belgium v Turkey world cup qualifier once, the Turks must have set 30 flares off. The belges simply had half a dozen stewards on hand with thick gloves and buckets of water.
The Turkish fans were incredible, BTW!

I was at the Wisla Kraków v Cracovia game in 2012 & it seemed that the stadium was on fire at times. The flares and smoke had to be seen to be believed and it's not an experience that I will be repeating. I would love to see the UK police deal with that game, I have never ever had so much adrenalin coursing around my body as I did that day. They have a special forces Police unit GROM that deal with these games and they don't mess around. Funnily enough, you don't get fans making complaints about police either lol. One for the bucket list for sure. Never to be repeated by me though EDIT The usual police used is a unit called BOA but they are backed up by JW GROM for this game only. Basically the Polish SAS.

I see posts from people, on Facebook, where they even post the link where they buy these bloody things. I think that any fan who still does this knowing that it could cost the club points or worse, really does deserve anything that comes their way & I would certainly have no problem in letting them know my feelings on it. I know some would think me uptight when I say this but these people are bloody idiots and the club really have to clamp down on it. We have been in the spotlight for some time now and the club issued flyers about coming onto the pitch and about the smoke bombs. I am not at all surprised that we got reported and because of what seems to be a small group who think it's funny. Imagine how it would feel if we got an automatic promotion spot only to have points deducted, I know I would be furious. I really hope that the club manage to weedle out the oiks that get these things into the ground

What about a carefully considered yet impromptu 'indoor firework display' just near where the teams come out?

Seems a shame cause in fairness they do look good sometimes. But rules is rules I suppose.
What amazes me most is IMO the hypocrisy of the FA, who ban flares and smoke emitting bombs from ALL football grounds....... But the biggest matches of the year the teams are greeted on the pitch, and the trophy is presented at the end with twenty bloody massive fireworks emitting enough smoke for a bloody Muse concert!!
