Ignore him, hopefully he will go away. No I won't, more members talking something other than deluded head in clouds nonsense is what this forum needs. I'm looking forward to hearing from them as they wake up to the real extent of our problems. Wins=confidence on and off the pitch, more losses=the opposite. it really isn't rocket science. So our collection of trialists and first year pros drew with Cirencester. How did your 'team' which included first team squad players get on against Weston-super-mare? Good for confidence eh?

Anyway, for those asking how we played and who impressed... We played OK, only a couple stood out for me at the moment but then I suppose what's happening in training counts for a lot. Ciren are high on confidence having just won the Southern League S&W and were well organised which, was a good test for the trialists. For me Craig Ross and Lawson D'Ath stood out. Ross made a couple of good saves and claimed crosses well and D'Ath ran the show for Rovers in the centre of the park scoring a well worked goal. It was hard to judge the defenders as a young backline playing together for the first time organisation wasn't brilliant. I'd like to see the list cut down sooner rather than later. Having spoke to a Reading supporter D'Ath was highly rated and has experience in the league above. Ross has Conference experience and will probably make a solid backup.

Which is probably why he is having a trial with a FL club today.

Yep, I'd be less worried about my allegiance and more so about our predicament as a non league club which has lost some quality players and recruited none. Shovelling our manifest issues under the carpet doesn't make for a good and committed fan any more so than recognising impending disaster make one a City fan.

Earning your wages 5 games out of 46 doesnt make a player quality. Take it from a Rovers supporter,we have lost no quality players. Danny Woodards would be classed as a very decent player but has injury problems. A fully fit Danny Woodards is different class along the back 4. Losing to Weston is not too bad to be honest, even tho they are a league below us.

I'll agree to the extent that a good pre-season can start to build confidence, but we also need to build a squad and what better way to do that than give the trialists a run out in a semi-competitive situation. In actual fact, it sounds like a bit of a failure and only one or two remain with us.
