So one player from each of the teams who are getting promoted automatically - can't argue with that !!

I hope Roofe gets it, takes some of the attention away from Matty for those Championship clubs looking to steal a proven striker on the cheap.

That's an interesting point that you make there thecuregalore94, where will Matty Taylor be playing his football next year? I believe that he's out of contract in the close season, so could move on for nothing presumably? But it was also rumoured (paper talk, so believe it or not) that he has signed a pre-contract with Hearts. Does anyone know if that is correct, or any more than that?

That's been the rumour for large parts of the season, no one really knows if there is any truth to it, well I suppose Matty and his agent will

From what I was told, before the new owners bought the club, this was true but a pre contract is not something that has to be adhered to. I have talked with a couple of players and also agents, ok these agents are in the world of boxing but they have said that a pre contract is not something that means any player/boxer, has to adhere to and is more of a promisory thing. Unless money has exchanged hands, I believe it doesn't hold much water. I'm hoping that no money has exchanged hands as this is a totally different thing. Maybe one of our legal eagle posters can clear this up, please ?

I would guess it is an agreement between two parties and unless an advance has been paid them I doubt it holds much water and even then x player could pay that back
If a player signs one and then decides he doesn't fancy moving to Scotland would a club make that player sign officially when he no longer wants to be there?

Thank you. I guess that seems the common sense thing to do but I have had to learn, the hard way, that common sense is not something that is used when dealing with these things. It's very difficult to have any recourse to the law and then to the lawyers & agents because of this. The older I get, the more disgust I feel towards these leeches. Long story and not one to go into on here. I need to keep my blood pressure at a reasonable level lol

It would seem to fulfill the idea of a forum to me. This is in contrast to our ITK posters who think that we should all know what they know, and sniff loudly at those that don't.

Thank you John, one big difference, since the new owners have been here, I have not had one word from the usual "sauces" and I can only feel that this is a good thing. In the past, if you were in the club bar then you could almost guarantee that you would get one or two people whose tongues became loose as the pint tally rose. I have to say though that I haven't tried to get any information either as I just don't want to be involved in that. I am still in the process of pinching myself to believe that we have new owners and that we are safe from the debts. I am really now looking forward to the last games. Normally we habe either had to face a battle to avoid relegation or have just had the damp squib of dead rubbers and the players minds being on holiday. It's really very cool to be looking at either auto, if we do well, or a play off as a shoe in

He hasn't signed one, though. And I refuse to see why I should name a source until I'm told who the source of the rumour is In my opinion he'd be totally daft to join Hearts now, with his significantly raised profile with all the recent goals he's scored. Stick with us Matty, we're on the march!

I recall that it was reported in the local press and the national press, that Matty Taylor had reportedly signed a pre-contract agreement with Hearts. It doesn't make the report correct though, I agree.
