And sure, we also have had some dodgy matches lately where we just didn't turn up (Mansfield away comes to mind, we hardly had a sniff in the first half and were 0-2 down at halftime! What I meant was, I was actually feeling sorry for the Rovers fans, stood there with their hands in their pockets midway through the 2nd half, and feeling an empathy with those fans who had spent a lot of money and made a lot of effort to travel and give up their whole Saturday, only to be rewarded with such a thoroughly dismal performance. (Having been in exactly the same position myself more times than I can remember over the years!!) Cobblers had created 5-6 very good chances in the 2nd half and hit the underside of the bar in the first half, at 2-0 we were totally bossing the game and Rovers just didn't seem to be playing with any shape or pattern, I couldn't work out what their gameplan was, or how they were supposed to be scoring at all or how Matty Taylor had scored 25 goals this season! It was only when CW substituted 2 of our attacking players and replaced them with defensive ones, and you made your substitutions, seemingly putting more attacking players on, that you looked a bit more interested in the last 15 mins or so.

I just couldn't believe that some of the posters on here saw the game so totally differently, as if Rovers dominated most of the match!!? (maybe they had drunk too many beers at the beamback before the match even started!?!

If you have seen how our season has been then you would see that we have had our manager make so many changes to the point where we are shocked if he ever does pick an unchanged side. We were beaten by Chesham in the FA cup, that was a real low point but I have had no choice but to eat a huge slice of humble pie as, it seems, that DC really does know his onions but I still have reservations on certain players as he does seem to have favourite ones & right now it seems that Liam Lawrence is one of those.
We have had a lot of games where we have either rescued a point or won, in the last 5 or in added time. Our manager says that he approaches each game as a new project and that can be both frustrating for us and especially when you have a player such as Montano, who has really made an impact but only to be on the bench for the following game.
I think there is a very thin line where you can keep a player interested and then that turning into indifference, out of frustration but, again, I have been proven wrong. I hope it continues but I would love to see us actually set out with an out and out attacking formation and go for the game, from the off.
Yes, we certainly have had some very interesting games and we have had many where we now actually win after going behind. If you know anything of our last 5-6 seasons? You'll understand that this is something of a shock. We now have a team that will NEVER EVER stop trying and that is fantastic to see. We had way too many season of underachieving and of paying out to players on long and expensive contracts, whose hearts were not one bit with the club.
IF we do get promoted then it will be a massive thing for us and it will truly put DC on a parapet. The guy has had to work with severe budget cuts and has had to get players on a shoestring & yet here we are, on the edge of a back to back promotions. I don't think that any of us, in our wildest of dreams, would have even entertained the thought of that. Many of us thought we may languish in the Vanarama national league, like Luton did. You only have to look at that league to see that it is now pretty full of some fairly well supported ex FL clubs.
What DC has done is to galvanise the team, fanbase and has given US back OUR club, our identity and our pride.
Regardless of the seasons end, what he has achieved is incredible however people wish to spin it. That he has done it by literally begging, borrowing using his non league guile, is just remarkable.
I would not be surprised if Darrell Clarke is offered a job with a bigger club. I just hope that if we do get promotion, that the bigger club is us.
