Geoff quoted this morning via Twitter "It is always satisfying to see people in their "True Colours" and realise you were not wrong about them". No other explanation. What could he mean? My conspiracy theory, based purely on reasonable hunch, is that there is an on-going Boardroom rift over future funding of the club. This has Eastville / Twerton @ 1985 - Geoff on a white charger written all over it. Maybe it's a compliment, someone has 'stood up to be counted',just as GD thought they would.

Maybe someone suggested another biscuit instead of Custard Creams. Sending Smartprice rich tea fingers upstairs while custard creams took a less active role was always on the cards, and had been for some time. Sadly, nobody budgeted for the fact that you can't buy individual packets and have to fork over an entire thirty-odd pence for a pack of two - a top to bottom sampling review of the tea trolley is now a priority. You sound as though you know what you're talking about Cosmic, so I couldn't possibly disagree with you.

He is a master of manipulating non stories into something when he wants but if you dare to ask for detail then he becomes all defensive and will accuse you of an agenda against him. If there is just one thing I have learned about Geoff, he likes to work a crowd, start something off with a vague statement and then get out of shape as the inevitable questions ensue. He is best left well alone but he knows that will not be the case. I don't understand, for the life of me, why someone in his position would post such ambiguous stuff that is open to speculation. It does nothing to settle the fans and infact has the opposite effect.

As a hunch we have no money at all, we owe various directors £7m and the stadium is going down the swanny. Most directors thought they would get there money back with the mem sale.
Here is the choice, go under and lose miillions or invest even more and most likely lose that too. No wonder they are long meetings as Higgs and Dunford have invested millions. There is not much at stake for the likes of King, Ware and Jelf.
I too understand Higgs and Dunford are on opposing sides. Can only speculate thats its as Geoff blames him for his families tarnished reputation following relegation out the league.

This is a director/chairman that used to post tosser smileys as replies on the OF back in the day.

I was surprised that no-one mentioned his Twitter quote before, but it seems apposite to the way that this thread is developing.
We all know something is going on at Board Level and speculation is the staple diet of football forums.
The club was only worth funding if the UWE Stadium came in to fill pension pots and return loans. If this is now not forthcoming, then the only asset is the current ground. Nightmare scenario looking more likely, especially as the debts will contine to rise, making on-going funding of future losses less attractive.
Have I got this wrong? Someone give me a more cheerful scenario?

GD has only hisself to blame for tarnishing the reputation of the Dunford name, his old man would be squirming with embarrassment if he were alive today ,rest his soul

Geoff quoted this morning via Twitter "It is always satisfying to see people in their "True Colours" and realise you were not wrong about them". No other explanation. What could he mean? Exactly, what on earth could he mean? And what is more, why is a Director of BRFC putting out cryptic messages on Twitter anyway? It seems puerile to me, but then again what do I know compared to a Director of the club? Clearly not much I'm certain . . . thankfully for my sanity> Surely in GD's position he should be able to address these sort of issues face to face. Well, I would have thought so at least, but then again perhaps I'm just naive. As an afterthought it occurs to me that on the old forums smilie list, there was a sinking ship. Perhaps the moderators could look into having it re-instated. I could almost guarantee that it would be well-used.

Apologies , should just stick to reading comments However, I bumped into GD at Bristol Airport a few weeks ago, it was 6am, I was going to approach him but then saw him 'shuffling' around, his wife seemed to have a word with him and he grabbed his coffee and shuffled off again. I didn't bother speaking, not sure what his health issues were/are but he didn't look a well person to me. I observed him for about ten mins and if he has any part to play in the boardroom going forward I would be gobsmacked. It maybe that at 6am,like me, he is not at his best. Perhaps though others are trying to thank him for what his family have done in the past for the club and convince him the way forward is without him?

Taking a positive (ish) view. He could have been talking about Charlotte Leslie/David Cameron. Or (more positively) Sainsbury's. Can't help but read it negatively though. (Agree with the request above re the return of the sinking ship smiley. In fact I'd swap all the ones on this forum for all the ones on the old forum. I really struggle with the new tiny images and working out what they mean. Any chance of going back to what we know and love?) Edit: Clearly I was on the right track with my opening line. Just read the following re-tweet on GD's twitter page THINK POSITIVE all day today & see how much better you feel tonight. Drive out negative thoughts as they appear. THINK POSITIVE all day.

I was at the Mem yesterday and spoke to BB, I didnt ask him anything about the BOD because I knew he wouldnt tell me anything but he seemed happy eough and we had a laugh and a joke.
All this gloom and doom about BRFC going bust seems a little unfounded with no FACTS to support the rumour. I paid for my car parking spot for next season, if BRFC were going bust then I am sure that taking my money knowing the were going bust, I would suspect would be illegal.

But the accounts are qualified accordingly. The shareholders/directors have guaranteed the company as a going concern. I suspect that would have been a line item on the agenda, given the circumstances.

Nobody is saying they are going bust. Comments have suggested cash flow issues and debate at board level around who will invest more money. We are over £7m in debt and without the UWE safety net its a big decision for anyone to put more in. There is no chance of them letting us go under whilst they have so much money to lose themselves but deciding whose responsibility it is to invest more capital is bound to generate debate.

Without the valuation of the mem with planning permission, not sure that the opening sentance to be accurate. Take the realisation of the planning permission away, and...
