That's an interesting interview.
it sounds like a different model of Director of Football - a technocrat rather than an old manager. Someone developing a new model and staying well away from the training ground or acting as shadow manager. English football could learn a lot from the Bundesliga, as well. It sounds like we're going to be a different type of football club. Plus, he seems like a sensible and personable chap.
Exciting times.

I also thought it was interesting that there was no mention of Marcus Stewart? Kept mentioning working closely with DC and SY. Might just be me, Or is he off soon?

It might have just been me, but I found it difficult to put a finger on what he would actually do... Seemed a bit vague to me, but I can only imagine the role is important, so good luck to him.
He came across as a really nice guy.

Maybe this is an insight as to why AW left?
If this guy is going to get hands-on with the academy perhaps it put his nose out of joint?

I don't think he's going to get hands on, and I don't think he'll wear a tracksuit. I think this is a different role.

Sorry I didn't means hands-on with the players but more taking control of the management side of the academy or at least defining the structure that needs to be put in place.
Wild guess maybe but seems AW didn't like something about the new regime.

And he is still listed on the club staff section of the website at least I think he was last time I looked.

I guess it would entail defining what an academy should be and what it should look feel and smell like, and how it should fit in with everything else, and that might result in a changed scope elsewhere. Then again, has he stayed or has he gone?

But Marcus is Assistant Manager, so answerable to his boss, and that's who Will Dubey talked about talking to. That seems fair enough. I wouldn't read anything into a lack of name check for the number two.
I've no insight into the relationship between Darrell and Marcus, but I think that (if there is a 'that') is a separate issue.

So is Yatesy!
However, I think he mentioned Darrell because Darrell's the manager (as you say); and Steve because he has been (fairly notionally with no resources) in charge of scouting, and he was talking about scouting. Nothing more sinister than that, hopefully.

It's not hard to work out why Marcus Stewart wasn't mentioned. DC is the manager and has ultimate say on transfers, and Steve Yates is our scout. The interview was held with the new guy who is a scout/analyst, hence why only those two were mentioned on a chat based on scouting and transfers.

Great to see the club bring in Will. Seem like he is a performance analyst from what I hear, I imagine all the top clubs have similar personnel and it is another indication that we are being ran now by a more professional group led by Wael.
