Wasn't at Wycombe.
Went to Accy and Pompey, and see all home matches.
For all the tinkering that goes on, I think I've seen the same match all over (except second half v Morecambe) in the last 6matches.
Fair enough you pick a team to reflect opposition, but I am seeing perennial issues of no width, no pace and lack of creativity going forward. I'm wondering if dc actually knows his preferred, strongest team?
Ok, yesterday dc picked a team (I was bemused with selection) with regard to form. In the last six matches, one player stands out consistently with remarkable lack of form and is included - Lawrence.
It's like the tinkering that needs to be done, isn't tinkered and at a time we need goals, we tinker in a player whom has struggled to gain any sort of form since his arrival (?)!
It's obvious teams have worked us out.....man mark, hassle in possession and we'll make a mistake or play hoof ball. They really don't have to be creative, just in right place at right time. Why can't we find an antidote to that ailment?
It's quite frustrating, as I know we're miles ahead of where we were, yet I feel we are on the cusp of play off push if we could show more consistency.....which is harder when team selection keeps getting tinkered.

DC over-reads the opposition and often plays a weaker side/formation against them rather than the strongest one available.
He is rather stubborn and takes too much time persevering with a player, particularly a new one like the disappointing Lawrence, and discards players too quickly and then is too slow to bring them back such as Milds or Ellis.

From the matches I have seen, we would be more effective with Lennie Larwence

Listening to his post match interviews I feel there is something about the team and/or club that is irritating him, I don't know what, he's been like this for a while now and his interviews are getting more and more like SC towards the end of his reign at City!! This irritation and interrupting of the interviewer started happening before the takeover. He's lost his mojo at present, let's hope he's not lost the dressing room??!

DC in the past has never shown 'Mates Rates' but Lawrence definitely falls into this category and as a word of warning to Mr Clarke, if you keep playing Liam your future progression could be Permanently damaged
Since Lawrence has arrived the team performances has dropped dramatically - Fact!!
I saw LL play both Pompey and the Morecambe games - dreadful.
Time to shake the pack tomorrow night and give us a convincing win [Now a MUST win game]

Heres my theory
I think DC played the reserves on Saturday knowing that Wael was at the game, I think it gives him ammunition for a meeting this week to prove we need a few players. Could DC have taken one for the team?

Can't see that. There's never much available in the January window itself let alone the loan window. That's there for emergencies really. Summer's the time for recruitment.

I think there are many players in the higher leagues who before last week would have been way out of our league (pun intended) who now are possibles IF we are ready to make a push. I think if the club really have big ambitions then this is a great opportunity to get up a league with little outlay, then sit pretty in L1 whilst spending big on the infrastructure

He may have been asked to show second string players That was surely last week's friendly against Newport. League points are too valuable at any stage, but a loss to Wycombe meant dropping out of the playoffs for sure.

I noticed the same & some terse and curt replies. I know he was pretty upset at not being told about the takeover and we don't know how the relationship between DC and NH was. Maybe DC could get away with taking in a certain manner with Nick ? It certainly does seem that DC seems rattled and or angry

Journalists vary in quality, but the questions they ask are sometimes the ones we would ask given the opportunity.

But you are absolutely right, something has rattled him and if it's the takeover then the people he should be angry at are all gone so very strange. I just hope he hasn't started believing he is better than he is. He's had a good 18 months but his career as manager should last many years and how he reacts to this will be important. UTG!
