So this time last week I was sat with some excitement at work awaiting the news of the upcoming press conference.......
A week on and we saw a hard fought home win and im looking forward to travelling up to Wycombe tomorrow with a spring in my step.
Although Im not getting carried away with what the future could hold for our club I cant help but think we are on the cusp of a new beginning. I would love to see us talked about for footballing reasons, I want to be proud of our stadium, I want other clubs to be envious of Bristol Rovers and not just our great support. I do feel this could be our time, this could be where we are converted into the club we feel we could always have been.
Of course all of this is still a pipe dream, we all know that nothing ever works out for us Gasheads, as soon as we get some good news and we start to dream someone comes and pulls the rug from under us and we have start all over. I guess that's what makes us determine not to let the club go and fight for it by turning up week in week out.
Its funny, I mean if we didn't get relegated, and we didn't have planning for the new stadium, and even if we got promoted as Champions last year in stead of taking a huge crowd to Wembley we may have never came to the attention of our new owners!
Im looking forward to doing my bit and turning up each week......
You'll never get rid of the Gas!!!!

Feel excited and optimistic. Like whats been said about building the infrastructure of the club and getting everything right off the pitch (as well as on hopefully too). Hope fans are patient as given time I'm optimistic we could be enjoying at least 1 promotion season within a few years. Even if this time next season we were say 10th in league 2, the club would be in far better shape than we are today. We've struck gold with the Al-Qadi family and I am so grateful they chose our little club.

Cant believe its a week already! Started with excitement, then apprehension, then more excitement after hearing Wael speak to the press and fans. Almost a tear in my eye as he was unveiled at half time, and im not ashamed, could be a massive turning point for us, even bigger than Mansells penalty!

Definately bigger than Mansells penalty as Mr Al Qadi wiould already have seen the amazing support. Without the buyout by our (now) chairman we were nosediving towards obscurity!!! UTG

It has the potential to bring the biggest change that our generation have ever known & could be the biggest change EVER. As much as I am trying to cast aside any intrusive thought, I can't help but worry just a little. One thing I have learned to be a truism, nothing is ever what it seems. I guess this comes as part and parcel of suffering so many disappointments. I said, when we got pp for the UWE, that I woukd only believe it when I am sat in it. I feel the same now and truth be told, my expectations have tumbled so much that Imwou,d genuinely be pretty happy with a team that is doing well, relative to our history, & staying at the mem but at least an updated version

UTG Agree about Mr Al-Qadi but... Nothing is bigger than Mansell's penalty. Without it we're just a non league club, albeit a big one. UTG!

His goal doesn't seem to be as well remembered as Mansell's penalty, which is a shame because he absolutely lashed it in. I was looking around everywhere for the ball, except the back of the net.

We only scored because I went for a wazz and I told anyone that would listen that we would score while I did. My fault

President. Steve Hamer is the Chairman. Surprised we haven't heard a bit more from him this week? I am not surprised, I would imagine they are looking at areas that need looking at and also looking at personnel and are they up for the job. Added to that he is currently in Switzerland with Prince Ali. I think that we need to allow them to settle in and identify the areas they want to change and how they are going to change them. I expect that the person who seemed to be the one who was passing on information to people ITK to go soon. After reading all the profiles of those going for the jobs in FIFA Prince Ali would have been good but Infantino seems OK but may be does not go far enough.

The Chairman may be looking at things but do you think he would say anything without first passing it by the owning family / president. It is early days and I think we all need to appreciate that things will take time. Now the FIFA thing is out of the way hopefully things will start to happen.

Given his horse has been well and truly beaten in the FIFA vote this evening, let's hope our new owner doesn't take too long to get over it.

I bet Steve Hamer has been talking to all the staff this week, i understand he has had a word with the shop staff Dear god, I hope he did t have to talk to swampy. He's not even liked by the other shop staff. If he went to Mingswood then I know Bernie would have certainly given him the traditional gas welcome and some good ideas. Top woman and gashead
