Loved that team. Good memories, with lots of them still being around for the promotion team in 1973/4. Bill Dodgin, hard to think he would be over a 100 were he still alive. What a great footballing philosophy he had, think Kevin Keegan copied him but Bill was more astute and tactical!! UTG!

Ray Graydon a Premier League Ref assessor? What qualifications do you need for that then? Thought they were all ex refs?

Wayne Jones was only with us for six seasons? I don't doubt the article for one moment, but six seasons?
It was surely longer than that.

I think it seemed longer because he started playing just after I started to support and he played through to about 1972 when he was injured just as promotion team started to be put in place. I always think because he was always there when I started it seemed longer and he was always a favourite of mine. Seem to remember him getting stick from the enclosure. Perhaps I'm wrong but seem to remember that him and Harold weren't often picked in same team, was either of them, not both. Both were legends though strangely neither part of a promotion team. UTG!

I often wonder whatever happened to Bryn Jones career? He was always a clever player with a good pass in him, but if my memory serves he had knee injury problems. I also seem to recall that Fulham made a cheeky bid for him, £10,000 I believe.
Yet another fine young player from South Wales, although I don't believe that the BRFC scouting system can claim any credit for discovering him.

When he came from Cardiff I thought he would walk into a permanent place in the team but it didn't seem to work out as planned. He seemed unable to cement a place in team and tbh had forgotten about knee problems. He was a bit like Sandy Allen IMO, came with high expectations but although good didn't quite work out. Bryn went to Yeovil in 72 or 73 I think. It was a bit of a conveyor belt from South Wales in late 60s and 70s and of course Tony Pulis was one of them. UTG!

Funny never mentioned about Alex Munro's wig being the wrong side of the door at the Lacarno Never mind The Locarno, do you remember when he stepped out onto the Eastville pitch wearing ''it.'' He also featured on the back page of the Evening Post advertising the thing, so I really don't know what he was thinking of. He took a fair bit of stick for a few games, but Alex was not the sort of player that you could hold any negative feelings for, because he was a trier. Not the most naturally talented of players it's true, but he's way up my list of Rovers favourites. RIP Alex.
