Do you honestly believe they had 40 genuine managers, apply ? Championship level football club, within a few months of a 30,000 redeveloped ground, billionaire owner prepared to back with the right signings, premier club in the region for many miles and large fan base to draw on.... Yeah can't see 40 managers interested in that can you? and Lee Johnson was better than all of those?

Yeah can't see 40 managers interested in that can you? No I can't. SL is not prepared to pay the wages and Cotterill made it very public. The truly decent managers will not touch the club. They do their research and turn away. It is irrelevant where we are. This is about your lot and a seemingly difficult position to fill.

A mate who is city has said that on their forum , before it was even announced , a thread was started saying 'I will boo him' . Fantastic reception for their new manager.

Frankly I am stunned as the teds really had a hatred of Lee Johnson and he was subject to some vile abuse. Gary was accused of favouring his own son over better players. 3.5 year contract must be pretty attractive I guess.

Ringing endorsement from a Barnsley fan....
Hi Everyone, Barnsley fan here. Just thought I'd let you know what to expect from your new Head Coach:
Loans loans & more loans- When he 1st came to Oakwell he made 4 or 5 loan signings which most agreed were necessary. Then in the summer he went and got 7 short term loan signings BEFORE the season had even started which started off a never-ending revolving door of mediocre loan signings up until his departure.
Boring & baffling tactics- Throughout most of his time here he played 1 up top while instructing the midfield & defence to run and pass it around like crabs. A lot of his substitutions were head scratchers too.
Favouritism- No matter how bad or out of form a player is he will just keep persisting & persisting with them if he's mates with them or he signed them.
Fantastic convincing talks & interviews- Don't be fooled by his words!
Good crowd- Always claps the fans and waves when requested.
Just over a month ago he had led us to the rock bottom of League 1 after the worst run since 1955. Without the signing of Hammill we would probably still be there. Like many of our fans I am not bitter but relieved he is finally gone. He would have been sacked in about October if we didn't have to pay him 500k in compo. I am amazed that any club would want him to be honest.
Oldham fans warned us and now I'm warning you. Lee Johnson is a tactically inept ship jumper who can talk himself out of anything.
Good luck this season. You're going to need it.

Going down? You must have missed us winning a 6 pointer away from home.

Lose and Charlton go above us. With Bolton beating Rotherham even more so.
Win and we send Charlton bottom and move out of the drop zone where we can kick on with a result v Ipswich.
Huge six pointer. Hence the large City turnout!

Definitely only three points. You can't have a "six pointer" in February when league position is irrelevant.
Charlton are in freefall anyway. They'll go down for sure.
