Lansdown's fortune could easily get them into the Premiership, but it looks like he isn't willing to splash a significant amount of cash on players to get there, on top of covering their usual annual debts. I do laugh back at City fans who laugh at us, all that money, big stadium, high wages and they could potentially be playing us next season (with a lot of luck!!) As much as there is a part of me that wants to believe that Steve Lansdown is pulling away, this is the same self made man that is now a billionaire and really is no mug. He is quietly making changes and has now been ruthless in replacing his own son. I have no doubt, none at all, that he will not back away from making the right aquisitions to get them to stay up. He won't want such a stadium to be hosting L1 matches. unless there is some really dark stuff going on, I doubt it very much, the guy will sort it. I'm not sure that buying Golbourne is going to be enough, although he and Tomlin are decent players. One modest buy and a couple of loans don't suggest the Duke of Guernsey is that willing to stick his hand in his very deep pockets. Perhaps the old tote ender is looking forward to a Bristol derby next season.

Personally I like 82ers posting on here as it means war memorials aren't being vandalised

sorry shower?.... oh i forgot this time last year we were romping a league you dream of being in while you were failing to beat braintree. in the words of you're boss...HAPPY DAYS Yes you did, beat Preston to the Title, which makes your pathectic efforts so far this season embarrassing, plus of course the man who led you is already sacked. in the words of your ex boss...we were the better team,if they wouldn't have scored we would have won, pure genius.

Cotterill's best line was after the 82s Boxing Day game v Charlton when he said they kept getting in the way of our shots... It was always fun to hear what he'd say next but for me that line would have taken some beating

It's a great shame Cotterill has gone. Whatever our result, I waited for his post match interview and the content of it. I miss that already and I think that whatever his next job, I will just have to tune in just to get my fix. He was incredibly funny mind. I thought he was the perfect fit.

Do anyone know if we re-applied for extended planning time on UWE site ?. The latest changes to planning law requires 3 years from the date ( JULY 2012) when SG agreed planning. It may be the case a full 2 years was given taking the 'end date' to JULY 2017. However: a condition could be 'evidence of work' must be shown 6 months prior to 'end date'. The point I am making is that we may need to start work soon in order to adhere to extended planning time. It may sound long 17 months ( if agreed) but what if there is a condition asking for major work a few months before cut off . Let's not go down the road asking for a new planning application next summer given a community is now built up locally close to the proposed UWE site . www.planningportal.gov.uk/planning/applications/decisionmaking/permissiongranted

If we have not started building by then even I will be saying it will NEVER be built.

Thanks THE GAS Have you got a link for that statement mate ?. My understanding is that planning comes in 3 or 5 year approvals. Ours was granted July 2012 mainly with conditions attached over 3 years from date. Looking forward to link. Many thanks..

Go on SGls. Website. Search planning applications for uwe. It will bring up the planning app. Click on the documents, click on the decision and you'll see the signed legal document and all the information that goes with.

Standard development condition within it says 'work will start within 5 years of the issue of this decision' so yep, Higgs isn't lying about that. ?
