What's your worst? I broke my tib and fib on Monday night, still in hospital an operation and eating all the drugs they're giving me. It was bloody sore when it happened but I'm delighted to inform you all I didn't cry. Anyway, what's the worst thing you've done on the football pitch? How long was the recovery and did you play again?

Did you try and run it off?
I tore a cartilage in my knee when I was 17 and had keyhole surgery to correct it, but that wasn't playing football. I think I jarred my little finger when playing in goal once - it bruised up nicely.

I broke my wrist playing football on concrete a couple of times when I was about 8.
I didn't cry until they showed me the X-ray.

I broke my arm trying to jump over a horse box in the gymnasium once, does that count ? I didn't realise I'd broken it until I tried lifting the kettle, my mum was furious with me for not telling her until several days later.

Sorry to hear about your break and I hope you heal well.
My worst injury was dislocating my left ankle. It happened when I tried to just turn quickly. It would have been better to have broken the ankle as that would have healed quicker. I was out for about 10 months, and I did play again. I did it when I was about 34, and I continued playing until I was about 43.
