This takes me back to Twerton Park and sections of the crowd alternately chanting "Gerry Francis blue & white army" back at each other. www.facebook.com/justubbs/videos/10153827426449134/?pnref=storyIt could work with one group with scruffy beards singing "Matty, Matty-Matty, Matty-Matty, Matty, Matty Taylor". And the other group with ginger wigs singing "Rory, Rory-Rory, Rory-Rory, Rory, Rory Gaffney". Okay, Rory isn't our player ... yet. For those without facebook.

I've long thought the very best chants are orchestrated on the internet.

The back and forward chanting at Trumpton was awesome - nostalgia....... Used it for GF and John Ward.

Why're we singing about a Cambridge player? Well, I did say "isn't our player ... yet." Okay then, more in line with the original tune the chant comes from. Left side ( with fake beards and long hair tied back) chant: "Stuey, Stuey-Stuey, Stuey-Stuey, Stuey, Stuart Sinclair." Right side ( sporting ginger wigs) chant back: "No-no, no-no no-no, no-no no-no, no-no, there's no Gaffney."

I've long thought the very best chants are orchestrated on the internet. I think a bit of quiet musing doesn't go amiss on a forum. Others can run with it if the mood takes them at a match didn't chewy used to be our best chant thinker upper? if so, is he having a spot of '2nd album syndrome' since the heady days of Disley and Lescott ready to rumble? I really don't know, although I did enjoy 'I love you Rory' a couple of weeks back

Cricket fans chanting is a bit like Teds smiling - it just isn't done! I agree in the main. But when it comes to England cricket's Barmy-Army I think they've come up with some of the most inventive songs, over the years, of any group of sports fans. They create a great atmosphere too.

Used to love going to Hampshire Sunday league matches. We used to sing a lot after a few bevvies! :-)
