i gave ian holtby a call on thurs following what i read on here and fb...he was off but gave barmnet a call friday am .....sorted now ..mainly thanks to the pompey fan who said on fb they they tried the same with them and pompey complained to the fa It would be if it was true. The terrace and seats have been available on the Barnet website since September for both Portsmouth and Bristol Rovers. Portsmouth problem was people buying them direct and it not going through their priority system back in September. There was no complaint to the FA, Portsmouth contacted Barnet and the tickets were taken off sale for both terrace and seats with the remaining available away tickets sent to Portsmouth. To say Portsmouth were forced to buy seats and not terrace is false. If you think about it there was never a question of Portsmouth selling out the 1700 away so where would the benefit be? Now lets deal with you, The clubs policy has been the same for every team since October. Take terrace off sale 2 weeks before the game and determine if more than the 890 seats will be needed, anyone already with a terrace ticket given a seat on the day if the numbers are insufficent. There was never a need for all 890 seats to be sold before the terrace became available, just for the club to be certain that more than 890 would be needed on the day. By Thursday lunchtime the it was clear the terrace was needed so it was made available. As I said on your other forum. i do not like the practice of taking terrace off sale to force extra into the seats and I do not like the practice of forcing small clubs to pay for seating on the day, but there it is.

How many nanoseconds would it take to work out we'd want the terrace?

Hello, bees knees. Nice to see you back! I think everyone can now see how futile the joke was with your lot trying to create a false rivalry. The only ding dong thing is....it may well backfire on you guys as quite a few intend to visit. Oops! Just saying..

Pretty poor practice trying to rip fans off, why not offer the terracing first, there's no reason not to.

Since September?! I was on there last week without a hint of any terrace availability. Madness. Yes, since September. Just like all the other games. In your case the terrace was off sale for less than 48 hours. I agree it's poor practice to withdraw sale of terrace tickets 2 weeks before the game but it's the small clubs I feel sorry for most as those who didn't get in early are only given the seats as an option and never get the chance to buy terrace. Other than for the conference title then I feel no rivalry with yourselves. Although many would like the new stand to be named the Modeste Stand

Just looked at Barnet's ticket site following what Bees Knees has said. Chose a couple of games at random. Their game v Wimbeldon in February...only stand seats on sale to away fans Their game v Hartlepool in March...no away tickets are on sale yet.

Seems all future games no longer have the terrace available as you say, this has changed since I last looked Thursday evening. Which is a shame.

Beesknees you are talking rubbish we only got the North terrace open after quite a few people including myself emailed Barnet and complained that it was totally unfair to be selling tickets at £23 pound a time when loads of us would prefer or can only afford to stand up In my case it would have cost another £28 Too many clubs do not respect the loyal fans home or away UTG

Anyone have any indication on how many sold?? Is pay on the day a viable option?

It seems you already knew this so there was no need for the grief- You'd like to think you had some affect and you did. Now no one can buy terrace in advance. And for evidence of terrace tickets being available in September Or you can look at the ticket site and see the terrace is available to Orient, Notts County and Yeovil fans in April. As for selling tickets at £23, Isnt that what you are charging Pompey, Oxford and Plymouth and £20 for terrace. So you up your prices by £4-5 for big clubs. Both clubs are as bad as each other. Maybe Barnet should treat you as Cat A and charge a minimum of £20.

Still not sure why the terrace hasn't always been an option online?! Unless I've missed the explanation?!
Because (and trying not to sound like we are the greatest thing ever here) we are Bristol Rovers & you know we won't be bringing anything less than 500.

We both know why the terrace was withdrawn from sale. To force anyone who hadnt yet bought a ticket to buy seats until such time as the club was certain the terrace would be needed. I dont like it and I can only repeat again it's not something I like my club doing.

And that's fair enough, it's not your fault your club apply that policy

Very annoying for those of us who bought seats before the terrace was available. On enquiring about swapping them, my mate was told "lots of people have asked so we've sent a list to the chairman for a decision, and we'll call you back with a decision" which is so laughable I'm wondering if he made it up! I take it back, they did call back and have allowed us to swap. So they have done the right thing after all.

Very prudent decision by Barnet, with how much you weigh you'd have probably broken a seat!!
