This is perhaps one of the most humorous first (and realistic) interviews that I've heard in a long time . . .
I've no special feeling for Liverpool, but I like Jurgen Klopp's attitude and outlook already.

Living in Germany I suppose I've had more exposure to 'Kloppo' than most in the UK. He is brilliant. I imagine the BBC and Sky are sh1tting a brick about interviewing him. He'll quite likely slip in the F word during interviews. One interview here a reporter asked him what he would do to motivate a player at half-time, and Kloppo slapped the reporter and just said, "that" ! I think the average football fan in the UK will love him.

Just another stepping stone?

From BBC Sport . . . To be fair I think Carlo Ancellotti already used that line when he became Chelsea manager and 'normal' doesn't really do Klopp justice I think! Win or lose Liverpool have become about 80% more interesting with Klopp involved. The only interesting thing about Brendon Rogers was whether he was going to eventually snap and nut an interviewer - his eyes gave away a certain desire I think. The man looked permanently furious!
Incidentally I'm all for Newcastle sacking McLaren and replacing him with Kevin Keegan. I don't think it would do them any good but the Premiership is a much more entertaining place with Keegan in charge of Newcastle no matter how crap they are!

In fairness to our younger posters who may not have seen it, and those of us that just enjoyed watching a very public meltdown by KK, yer 'tis. . . . Nostalgia eh?

Just another stepping stone? You have to look at the environment. In the Bundesliga it really is a one horse race now. Dortmund went bankrupt in about 1999 (around that time). They had to sell their ground, and I believe they still rent it. Klopp would build a team, only to see Bayern destroy it. The latest example being Marcus Reus. A player many are looking at, but Bayern don't want him. At a Bayern press conference a few months back, Bayern revealed that Reus has a buy out value in his contract. Bayern didn't want him, but they let the world know about the buy out clause. Imagine in England if Man Utd told the world about this regarding say a Man City player? Don't forget, Klopp also lost Lewendowski to Bayern on a free ! Liverpool can compete with the others. All they need is regular Champs League football to a/ bring the funds in and b/ attract players.

Soon it will be his last interview: Jurgen Klopp to step down as Liverpool manager at end of season..
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/1227B/production/_132436347_hi091447510.jpg Klopp has won six major trophies with Liverpool, including the Premier League and Champions LeagueLiverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is to step down from the role at the end of the season, saying he is "running out of energy". Klopp was appointed in October 2015 and his contract was due to run until 2026. He won the Champions League in 2019 before leading Liverpool to their first league title in 30 years in 2019-20. "I told the club already in November," said 56-year-old Klopp, who has announced his decision with his side top of the Premier League. "I can understand that it's a shock for a lot of people in this moment, when you hear it for the first time, but obviously I can explain it - or at least try to explain it. "I love absolutely everything about this club, I love everything about the city, I love everything about our supporters, I love the team, I love the staff. I love everything. But that I still take this decision shows you that I am convinced it is the one I have to take. "It is that I am, how can I say it, running out of energy. I have no problem now, obviously, I knew it already for longer that I will have to announce it at one point, but I am absolutely fine now. I know that I cannot do the job again and again and again and again. "After the years we had together and after all the time we spent together and after all the things we went through together, the respect grew for you, the love grew for you and the least I owe you is the truth - and that is the truth."
