Weird how they reported their utter failure as if it were some kind of victory.

I kind of lost track/will to live.
So,officially there is no protest group or individual stopping the UWE build now?
There is 'nothing' stopping the build by the 'end of the Summer'?

Weird how they reported their utter failure as if it were some kind of victory. I think they do see it as a victory. They've succeeded in being highly irritating, delayed the move to the new stadium and cost the club a minimum of £1.5m to date. They sound triumphal, which indicates to me that they always knew they had no case but were happy to carry on causing problems for as long as the law allowed them.

Which works for you or against you depending which side of the argument you are on. But taken to the limits like this it does bring it into disrepute.

I think the stronger likelihood is that a small army of bitter s**theads have started secretly but regularly walking their dogs on the UWE site and have been documenting each walk in a communal diary (assuming they can write). They can then claim the site as a Village Green just before we are about to send the diggers in.

Difference between UWE and Ashton Vale is that the UWE is private land with 8 foot high fences around it. Any dog walkers on the land would be done for trespassing unlike AV which was all open

The point is it is a victory for them because without this distraction the club could have concentrated on keeping us in the league . We would then be playing league football next season and moving into our new ground next August how many fans will we lose over the next two years I believe we will never fully recover from this and may not survive if we get trapped in the conference for more than one or two seasons

Their agenda isn't anti Gas. We were just collateral damage. If BRFC goes bust and never plays another game, they will not have won if Sainsbury's gets built.

You have to wonder what these idiots regard as a 'victory'? One of them lives about 300 yards away from the ground on the far side of Muller Rd, so all he has achieved is to make sure that rather than have a supermarket that wouldn't affect him in any way, he now has, for the forseeable future, a minimum of 23 days per season when his road will be clogged with football supporters' cars.

Of course they had a victory, they generated publicity about a BCC planning issue shortfall (as they saw it) Even the Green Party got publicity and for people who dont read past the headlines they probably came across as the "good guys". They delayed the building work so yes, I would say thay had a vistory but not the one they most wanted.
