so if im reading this right Ina nutshell "people" want to build us a new stadium but N.H. wont let them because he is wanting some money he put in to the club back and hes holding out in the hope of winning some back through the appeal ? You have no way of knowing that. It's also very dangerous to make statements like that as it could be deemed libellous. Can it ? There is a question mark at the end surely its a reasonable question and not a statement ?

Presumably Higgs would need to drop the pointless appeal and cut his losses. Am not sure that's the case, he is acting on a decision retrospectively so it may still go ahead especially if he remains on the board of the new consortium, which he may well be. DONT spoil things already!

Thanks, My gut feeling is Higgs has brought CS in to instigate their plan B and this had made this consortium make their move. Or possibly it's the other way around? As NH was brought in to bolster GD, perhaps CS has been brought in to help NH fight off a consortium?

Firstly i am sad i was the one who had to break this news - my reasons are honourable i assure you and i have spent many days considering whether i was right to do so I have known about this for a period of weeks and have given ample time for it to surface itself - Sadly it has not - I believe what i have passed on to be true and if proved otherwise i am fully prepared to fall on my sword and apologise fully for being wrong as well as lose any respect i may/may not have from Gasheads - i feel supporters deserve to know something if it has a bearing on the future of the club we love and not just known to a few - i am also not a fan of 'i know something you don't know' and think everyone has the right to do know if its 'out there' my tin hat is firmly on and i know i will come in for plenty of stick in fact its already begun - that is my issue and i will have to live with it - thanks for some of the kind comments and i promise you i have only done this because i genuinely feel its the right thing to do and will of course keep you updated if i find out anything new Cheers and UTG - JTS Hi Jon, it's been known for some time that a consortium is being put together as l posted the other day, only thing that was not known was the exact make up of the consortium but I suspect the USE, South Gloucestershire Council and the American company behind the UWE would be a good educated guess as well as some current shareholders. If you own any shares you could be in for a windfall. Hooray. I had it tagged as junk stock.

At least he's consistent. What threat? Just pointing out what unfounded posts based on nothing more than ...........well I don't know what, could get a reaction. Never mind forget it. I am out of here to watch the egg chasers.

Someone with the b*llocks to stand up and share something of real value. This is in stark contrast to the usual 'in the know' gob-sh*tes who hint at things without adding any value to their smug "we know more than you" stance. This does tie in with a conversation I had with Alistair Durden outside the High Court - who said there were investors waiting in the wings, but NH was refusing to engage. Keep up the good work Jon. This is the biggest obstacle, our chairman himself. How can he give an unbiased view or outlook ? He can always use the "not in the best interests if the club" and no he has no obligation to explain further. I would imagine shareholders had the right to know though ? seems he now is the only person that has any valid view on what is good for the club. I know it's far too early to know but I am glad JTS has pit this out there. NH should be asked questions and engage with the fans. I get so angry that he has made himself the King of BRFC. I would hope that this now exerts pressure upon him. It really is bloody time he took onboard the views of the supporters. The fans and club deserve better. I am bloody angry right now, I don't expect we will be given any detail as is the norm. Nick knows best eh ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png)

In which case these "people" need to go public. Unforunately these type of people appear to move slowly or should i say too slowly for us mere mortals - i would expect a public announcement sometime next week - UTG Then why break the news tonight, will less than a week make a real difference? I hope you aren't being used just to gage our reaction &/or raise fans expectations just to put pressure on the BoD to accept an offer which is not in the clubs interests.

There's certainly no need for your reticence in passing this information on to us fans. Being stuck down in Dorset I don't know anyone who posts on here personally and know them only through their posts and your hard work on behalf of BRFC through the FFS has earnt respect and the right to be believed. When I go to watch I'm not with other people usually, and only with family who might come and watch. I am not in the know on any new ground info and only know what I know through gossip on the forums and reading too many posters who pretend "they are in the know" and know someone who knows NH, BB, etc. I do know that I have seen too many false dawns about our new ground over the past 40 years and in that time have seen too many teams and clubs to mention "overtake" us in the facilities they now have (Swansea, Reading, Bournemouth and Brighton are the ones that come immediately to mind but there are at least 15 more). So it was good to hear your opinions about the current position. Let's hope this whole ground saga is finally coming to a good end. UTG!

As others have said, big thanks to JTS for taking a chance on releasing this info to us fans not 'in the know', & I hope the repercussions aren't too fierce.
I would also hope that the consortium, if they feel that negotiations have stalled, will find a way to officially publicise their situation.
If the deal (and the dealers) seem kosher then it is down to the fans to help the deal go through - by making it clear to Higgs that he is no longer welcome at the Mem on match day, and making our feelings clear on traditional & social media, until he cuts his losses and does the right thing for the club rather than himself.
HIGGS OUT.

Presumably Higgs would need to drop the pointless appeal and cut his losses. In which case, he would be resigning himself to losing his share (as dictated by shareholding presumeably?) of the difference between today's market value of the stadium and what he is trying to get Sainsbury's to pay, and he would have to write off the costs to date, and stump up the extra £375,000ish which was the 2nd half of Sainsbury's costs. That would be a significant hit for him to take. Plus, if there's someone making an offer, it's on something that might (but almost certainly isn't) worth £15 million more than it currently is. So long as he holds permission to appeal, he keeps that complication / bargaining tool / distraction / hostage running. Then again, if the build cost is now nearer £36 million, and the £30 million is ring fenced for that, it's effectively only an extra £9 million on the asset value, but the principle holds, just with another level of 'ah yes, but....' to cloud things. i wouldn't expect a speedy resolution.

Sexstone has joined as Non Exec Director and somebody has leaked a story via the FFS that some mysterious investors want to take over the club, apparently against NH's will, and build the UWE.
