A decent away performance today, some pluses and good performances from a few players (J Clarke-immense, Chapman, Ellis, Lines first half and good effort all round). However, I can't help thinking we're carrying an unfit Easter every match. As soon as he's replaced we come alive with our play in the final third far sharper. A neutral thought he was unfit, uninterested, slow etc etc today and when asked about it I really couldn't defend him...at all. Is it unthinkable to loan him out?! Taylor and Harrison far sharper.

We need a striker to sign before the deadline, playing 2 up front means that we need 4 striker options available and i think Easter is 4 weeks away from being fully fit, Ellis needs to be pushed more, and Matty Taylor is never going to be the 30 goal striker that everyone demands he should be, the technical quality and awareness MT has is something our other strikers could only dream of having. Dominic Samuel on a loan until January would be a decent option.

It's obvious his potential. He plays brilliantly off the last man. He has guile and street wise-ness and can offer Ali if dimension to our forward play, but it is what it is..

Strikers can't take all the blame when they are two players expected to use up all their energy chasing 4 players around. We allow the better teams to build from the back instead of pushing players forward to help win the ball. This would be my only criticism of DC in that it is the same fault everytime we play a decent team in the League or if we play a better team in the cup.We pay them too much respect and allow them to pass from the back which is exactly what they want to do. We sometimes need to get up and go at em and impose our game on them.

As for Easter, he has never looked match fit to me, or if he is match fit he has very little pace.

The thing that has worried me about Easter this season (and something I can't recall from last year) is the potential to get himself sent off for mixing it, retaliation, and silly off the ball incidents. From the commentary yesterday it sounded like he was getting involved again.
Talking of "Playing with 10", yesterday Cheltenham Town played with 10 men, for 83 minutes, away from home, and went on to win 3-0 !!

Everyone at the Club knows Easter is not fully fit and are happy to play him into match fitness - what other way is there than giving him 70mins a game? He has obvious quality which shows in every game and he needs time - just as Harrison needed time bit by bit -until he was ready for a full game - and even now Harrison finds two games in a week too much. It is evident that we need another available striker - BUT - will Twatola allow it? If he understood football he would - but as he does not then he probably will say no.

We do have a fourth 'striker' he is currently getting game time on loan at Tranmere, DC has said he hopes he returns to challenge for a place. Failing that I'd bring back Jamie Lucas from Boreham Wood, I liked the look of his play and scoring ability in the pre season friendlies but I think he got injured last weekend.

He was pushed off the pitch and lent on a barrier to stop himself, which gave way, which was probably painful and embarrassing. To be fair to the Orient player, he did come over to apologise and help Easter up, but I could see why he was pissed off. It certainly wasn't a potential red card.

As he's only on a one-month loan to Boreham Wood, that is a possibility.

If only we had regular reserve fixtures to give players match fitness rather than using the first team.

Can't underline the importance of a strong and competitive reserve team in league. It should push the first team (I understand the financial implications). Plus, it would give a good, cheap evening out when we are playing away on the Saturday!
