We scored 4 superb goals without reply in a Bristol Derby! Kudos to anyone that was present on the night, I was only 6 so can't remember a thing about this particular game. Four cracking strikes though (Not sure why the first half and Channing's goal isn't included) and the atmosphere sounds electric! Awesome to see a youthful looking Vaughn Jones giving his view at half time next to that sheedhead nause as well! Thought the ref would have gone for a red on that Gerry Harrison tackle mind and questionable celebration by Taylor!

I'm not sure Vaughan Jones looks young but Alistair Hignall certainly does!
I was there, aged 10. Loved it. That tackle was right in front of me, too.

I remember watching this on HTV and clearly hearing roger malones name in chorus from the poplar terrace. Great times

One of the best days I ever had at a game! Remember saying to my old man that we had hardly scored a goal at the end we stood behind. Was bouncing all over the place when we scored three in the second half! I couldn't been anymore then 9 or 10yrs old! Happy days.

That time when Malcolm Allison insisted that we shoot on sight! And that some of our players didn't know how to shoot properly!!!!?

I was there too, would of been 11.
What a way to beat the s**t.
We were on a run of 4 straight wins and it looked like Malcolm Allison would keep us up, but it didn't last long.
Back in the good old days when tackles like Harrison's were part of the game, good times!

Maybe it's just the Barnet. Did us and City go down that year?! I know our stay in that division was a relatively short one. *just looked it up, we finished rock bottom. Great* haha

Great* haha Yeah we finished rock bottom, we never got to grips with the back pass rule and we got punished in every game by it, it seemed. The previous season we finished 13th, having been rock bottom at Christmas and we had the best home record and scored more home goals than anybody in the whole division, if we had started the season better we would of made the Play Offs.

What year was that then? I reckon I might still have been in my twenties One of my all time favourite games, largely due to the fact that I backed Rovers to win 4-0 at 66/1! I can't even begin to imagine betting that scoreline now

Just 2 weeks before my 28th birthday, how time flies, I should imagine even Dido would have just about still been in his 40's

I was there that day, in the Popular side at Twerton, the rendition of 'You're so sh*t it's unbelievable!' was so loud it made my ears ring! Happy days (as DC might say!)

I was at the game, 15 years old in the popular side fuelled by Blackthorn singing my heart out! Great day

By the way, Rex, how much you put on Celtic to win The Champions' League?

Yes a great day, some good songs back then, roger malone getting it full blast, and sing to the s**t," where were you in 82" and "you"ll never get rid of the gas" loads better than singing irene twenty times a game, thankfully the old eastville songs carried on for a few years, happy days indeed.

I think that win against city was Malcolm Allison using a 'swirl' midfield ?,the bloke was a brilliant coach, maybe he was a bit past his best by the time he got to Rovers. I think the last game of that season was away to Millwall in the last game at the Old Den,what a memorable day out that was,the match day experience was much more enjoyable then,I find it very boring and bland now.
